hey,

I got my tuned a while ago and I got these results.

I payed 620$ for the tuner and I am not happy with the results.

what do you guys think about the a/f ratio and the drop in torque around 3800RPM?

and for the boost, is that the kind of boost I should expect from the GT-RS turbo? shouldn't it reach peak boost earlier?

final question, is it possible to get higher boost than that on stock internals?

thanks in advance.

Aler

what other mods? boost controller? injectors afm? etc its hard to judge cause if the tuner had to juggle crap you still end with an ass tune. If you have all quality mods and support for the gtrs then yes there are issues. It actually looks liike a badly tuned emanage ultimate curve... the afr's are pretty shaky.

Gtst r33 1996

power FC

E-boost 2 controller

adjustable shock absorbers

swaybar

splitfire coils

HKS bov

HKS intercooler

GT-RS turbo

3" exhaust

apexi air filter + intake

18" wheels

havy duty clutch

aftermarket fuel pump and injectors (not sure from which company).

So you guys think that I shouldn't take it to another tuner?

any suggestion weather i should do something or not? is it good enough or not?

and my other question was can I apply more PSI to that engine? (stock internals)

Tune is not too bad, AFR's reasonable

Boost control is poor... so tuner cant specifically be blamed there yet

Honestly you've given next to no detail, impossible to say a lot just from a graph.

forgot to mention

BTW, I didn't blame the tuner for the results. I took the car, paid him the money. came here to get more info about it.

the biggest reason for me to be a member in these forums is to learn.

and my questions were what you guys think about the torque drop, and what you guys think about the boost ..ect.

didn't say, "do you guys think that i should go back and ask for my money?"

and if I sounded like blaming the tuner or something then I'm sorry,, didn't mean anything like that :)

Did you try moving the VTC point around?

The RB25's VTC turns off at 4500rpm doesn't it? That's exactly where your torque goes up. I'd be moving your VTC point down to around 4000rpm and seeing that the torque curve looks like then.

The boost control is poor but doesn't explain the dip as it is starts low but has a constant rise. The AFR curve is not too bad. It looks worse cause of the scaling.

see where the midrange at about 4000rpm AFR drops down in the 11's? thats what is killing your torque.

where are you located? might be able to suggest a tuner that can fix it

Whats the general concensus where AFR's should be - between 12 and 12.5? Mine was tuned recently and AFR's between 11.5 and 11.8 and I aksed the question should it be around 12.5, and the comment was "it won't last long around those AFR's". My car also see track days tho' and hence my tuner might have been thinking of cooler combustion chamber temps rather than out and out torque and hp.

At a certain point the torque jumps up 30% yet the boost only jumps 1psi. Whatever is causing this is probably wreaking havoc with the AFRs and the tuner was too lazy to get it tidy as it was difficult.

What do you guys normally set the VTC switchoff point to on RB25s? We were tuning an RB25 a little while ago and its torque curve mimmicked that shown above until we played around with the VTC switchoff point. It was set too high and the torque would begin to roll off until the intake cam retarded and then it would pick back up again.

IMO $620 for a tune is a rip off.

Whats that 5hrs dyno time and they still didn't fix the boost drop or tell you what was causing it. :S

will, what happened has happened.

for now, I just want to get a better tune. some guys think that its a good tune overall but when

I drive the car and feel the torque drop at 4K RPM I just hate the car. so deffenetly i want to fix it. (might not be the tune that is causing it but the guy at the garage told me that this is the best thing that can be done with my car) not sure what he meant by that exactly.

and when i see other dyno results from different cars. I notice that when they tune their car for 14 PSI

they can reach that boost and very close to it in the mid range.

in my situation I get 9 and 10 PSI for almost the whole time and at the end the boost reaches 13.6

Im sure this thing was tuned to 21psi.

I was there one of the times this thing go run up and im 100% sure it has shiitloads more boost put into it.

What other dyno sheets did you get????

And if you have a proplem, go back to the shop, you will only get confusing information on what is what and who knows where.
