NDSOC do their track days with MSCA (Marque Sports Car Assoc). There is a sprint this coming Sunday (yes, Bathurst day) at Sandown. You're welcome to come and watch (probably too late to enter).

Then, on the following Sunday, NDSOC will be conducting a driver training day, again at Sandown. Entry forms should be available at the web site (ndsoc.com.au), otherwise email [email protected] .

NOTE: you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated car club to do these events. we will gladly sign you up on the day. You will also require a CAMS L2 licence, $91, valid for 12 months. And the car will require a fire extinguisher and auxilliary bonnet restraints, and you need a stack hat (helmet).

What you can do, is simply choose from a CAMS affiliated club to be a member of. Choose yor favourite, coz you can go for any track day held by any CAMS-affiliated club. And pay no more than the track day fee. Imagine one club membership that allows you to play at all golf courses.

Myself, am with PIARC. And they are holding an event called Island Magic, 2 days of track( attend 1 or both) on the 29th and 30th of Nov. So simply download the entry form and post it in. The important things u need are,

1) Extinguisher that complies with CAMS regulations (Metal bracket, etc)

2) Secondary bonnet restraint device( any strap or belt will do)

3) Metal valve caps

4) Helmet (ANSI approved)

5) make sure your car is in a roadworthy condition,ie: no drips leaks, etc.

6) And some clubs are strict about a 75dB limit at 30m driveby. ( Most cars will be under that)

I think I mentioned the most important ones to get started.

Costs,

Club membership: $30-$50

Cams L2S( Level 2S) : $90

Track day fee: $90-$120

Hence, to go on the track the very first time, you'll need about $240. Thereafter, you only pay for the track day.

I'm a new member of NDSOC and we just cracked 300 members. Nice club, interesting people. Looking forward to getting to Sandown next weekend too. Costing me though. Just getting the 33 reregistered I need new rotors, all 4, @ $640 for plain rear and slotted fronts, rego, club membership new extinguisher CAMS licence new 6 puck clutch the list goes on. The accountant will throttle me when she adds it up :P

Before you do a trackday make sure your car is in good working order. Change all the fluids (gearbox, engine, radiator, Dot5 brake fluid).

Make sure you have decent pads as well (something like RB74's not your nissan oems).

I did my first trackday over 6mths ago and im still repairing my brakes now. I destroyed my master cylinder, glazed my pads and seezed my pistons. Now almost $3,000 later and she's almost back to normal.
