just purchased some s1 import rear lights for my r31 but the paints a bit scratched up on one :uh-huh:

any ideas on how to repair it and what type of paint / colour matching etc? its a grey/black silvery colour over black primer

heres some pics and more details

Tail light pics

any info would be good. don't really want to respray the whole thing just colour match and repair (middle garnish and other light would need spraying otherwise)

thanks

Dude, you are going to have to bite the bullet and paint them. No way you will match exactly the colour. It really isn't hard, like I said in the R31 forums...if you don't want to try it yourself, sand them thoroughly with 1200, and take the whole lot to a panel shop for painting. You coyld even mask them up yourself, but make sure you use fine line masking tape. They'll have the facilities to colour match pretty well, but you should get the whole lot painted, as even changing how heavily you put the paint on will change the colour of metallics.

It shouldn't cost much, as it's just a coat of metallic.

The other option is to sell the lights to me!

Regards, Andrew.
