you cant get a real 33 GTR for 14k for that it will have to be a 32 that's probably ~20 years old and needs lots of parts replaced.

If you do your homework you'll find a well maintained GTR for a good price. They're more reliable than people give them credit for I reckon. I've seen R33 GTRs for $18k at dealers! Mind you it was a short term thing to get rid of stock and they all sold but there are bargains out there if you can stretch it a little.

Good luck either way, the GTST looks quite nice. :(

From what i remember, the QLD mod plate is basically their version of a compliance plate. But if the mod plate says a certain size wheel on it and it happens to be the wheels on the car, I do believe it means the car was complied with them on it. Dont listen to anyone who says the modplate means nothing, without it you car CANT be registered as technically it hasnt been complied.

Also if the car is registered, you dont have to take it over the pits, as i do believe you dont have to get an ID check done as it is older then 15 years. But personally I would get a engineers cert as either you will have to get one if u get defected later down the track or get one now. It would probably be cheaper to remove all the mods in the car just to clear the defect or register it. You also get peice of mind aswell when driving into a road side vehicle checking station.

the mod plate isn't the compliance plate, it's like an engineer's cert. constantly stamped to your car under the bonnet from what i've gathered. Having said that, Dickson told me it's more or less meaningless to them, I'd more than likely need an engineers cert anyway. So I'm gonna end up taking it to Ray once I get it anyway, like you said, it will be worth it down the road when I hit a random inspection.
