The other night my mate was riding his bike illegally, I live in an area where there is alot of Alley ways and not alot of streets. As he left his house 2 seconds later cop came down the street, my mate kept going and didn't stop because the cop was going the other way... the cop did a u turn and tried to follow him but mind you that my mate had already turned into another street and eventually the cop "caught up."

Even thou there is no way for the cop to check his speed , he got clocked at doing 90km/h in a 50 zone, evading police & unregistered bike & underage driving.

* Cop didnt show his radar gun.

I don't get how they can do him for doing 90km an hour when they werent even close to him for one, they were driving thru small S bends. Like i said earlier we have alot of alleys in my area so if my mate wanted to evade the police he could do it with ease, on a bike, on foot.

Another thing is the cops said that they were just driving around the area, even thou the nearest cop station is probly 10-15kms away there are atleast 2 cops per day patrolling my street even thou its probly only 100 houses long.

Does this come under harrasment because they always seem to be in our street trying to catch me and my mates driving because a few of us drive imports & illegally.

Even thou it is illegal for some of my mates to drive, which i do agree that they shouldn't drive/ride.

This one time i was driving my mates VN who doesnt live in my suburb or anywhere near and I was driving home and i saw cops pulling into my street as i was about to stop near my house... they speed up and try to pull me over even thou i have already gotten out of the car and i'm walking to my door ? Can they still ask for license etc ? do me for mods ? ask q's about who owns the vechicle ?

Any thoughts ?

Its called estimation. Officers are recognised estimator's of speed. So do the math.

Also legally - Police do not have to show you the gun, if they even have one.

Thoughts? Evading/Unreg/Underage - basically seals the deal on the speed - think about it.

As for the rest, two sides to every story so I don't buy it. Sounds like you guys are honestly a pack of donkeys, I don't blame the law for keeping an eye on you.

Pity they don't do the same around my area.

To the first question - no, and it sounds like they should be watching you.

To the second question - of course they can.

I wish they do the same in my area (more cops required), as at night I could regularly hear screeching tyre of cars doing drifting somewhere in the vicinity but I can't tell just by looking out the window, and my street is suppose to be a 50km/h residential area but the straight bit in front of the house is a frequent for bikes and cars to have a woosh around at least 80km/h based on estimates.

I called VicRoads suggested installing a few speed bumps on my street, they say it's council's matter, so I might ring council but council inspector don't work overtime (e.g. 11pm - 2am where I heard the hoon drifting around) so maybe I will ring local police station to report hoon behaviour in my area. I'm getting pissed myself - there are kids on the sidewalk, people walking dogs - someone is going to get hurt if the behaviour continues. I actually see one bike doing wheelie in my street with my own eyes - WTF...?

I drive an import , yes - like you, V35 now and previously R33 turbo for 5 years (no defects/been driving side by side with cops car on the road no worries), and I think if cops frequent your street, most likely there's been reported trouble in the area (I see youre in sth eastern - is it dandenong hoon hotspots?), and have made some reports. if you're not the hoons they're looking for, maybe one of your other neighbours is the hoon who have pissed off all your other neighbours and the result is what you're experiencing right now. since the cops don't know which car is the culprit then I think they have the right to check on anyone they suspected is the culprit. IMHO they (ur reporting neighbours and cops) are doing the right things. If you're not doing the illegal things - why are you worried about the cops?

You just answered your own question...

Why do you think cops are after you patrolling your street.

Its the coppers job to deal with these situations.

Any reason for driving "illegally"?

Every cop in my area knows my street.

I don't drive illegally, its just one or two of the locals.

I haven't got a speeding fine, nor have i hooned.

The only thing i've been done for is not having my p's up.

What I was asking was how can they say My mate was speeding if they couldnt see his bike mind you this was probly around 9pm, and like i said b4... if he was evading cops he could of got away with ease. no question about it.

I'm not worried about getting pulled over that much, but it would fry you if every 3rd time i drove down my street i get pulled over and driving a skyline they would likely want to dick me for everything which would be annoying.

I never said we were hooning. Just there probly one or two of the locals drive underage. My area is a bit of a troubled area but I see there point.

With a good lawyer he "may" get off the speeding charge, but pretty doubtful as he broke a few other laws.

If police are patrolling your street, there is good reason, and your mate just justified their presence.

Do the crime, pay the fine, do the time :)

    • So, no videos, but, the FAB9 Elite manifold and 68mm Bosch throttle bodies are in stock, but, not the rear part of the air box The FAB9 rear airbox thingie is made with a 3" intake pipe, to suit the 3" intake pipe size of a 68mm throttle body  When they get some more in stock is currently unknown as I'm waiting for FAB9 to reply with a ETA on resupply, my assumption is they outsource their plastic printing stuff to "china", and with the current "tariff war" going on in 'Merica it could be on hold for an undisclosed time Should I pull the pin on the Intake and throttle body, and wait for the airbox?????, that's what I'm thinking... 1. Would the standard 2.75" OEM intake on the air box really be that much of a restriction compared to the 3" naturally aspirated?????? 2. If I don't get the 3" FAB9 airbox fitted at the same time as the intake and throttle body will it need a retune, when/if it eventually turns up?????? As I'm impulsive, to a fault, decisions will be made within....."what's the time now"???....let's say 12 hours......LOL
    • yeah its just so expensive nowadays and its easy to lose motivation very quickly when you start adding up the costs. I acquired the car from a collector in Melbourne and was lucky to get the opportunity to buy something already completed.  I looked at a proper resto and your paying over 300-400K for a proper one (nut and bolt) so this one to me seemed like a much better option! Car is in private storage and for serious buyers, welcome to come see it/drive it in person (photos don't do it justice).
    • nice to see a proper resto, instead of the usual half arsed attempts where the owners wont even replace crappy floor mats
