I was talking to a guy today who reckons his brothers R32 had the HICAS start playing up when he installed new rear speakers.

He'd be driving down the road and the car would start to crabwalk all of a sudden.

Took the speakers out and problem solved (supposedly)

If i drive on my local freeway my hicas light illuminates if i don't change lanes. This problem only started when I fitted an aftermarket boss and momo wheel. The sensor on the steering column locates differently and is the cause in my case, but i'm too lazy to fix it. i also have 8" subs in the parcel that required the hicas module to be shoved over a little but this has not caused problems for me.

which sensor are you talking about?

Is it that plastic thing with the "H" on it that sits on that yellow plate?

My HICAS light comes on as well after about 15mins driving... I don't feel any differences in the car though, so does the light actually mean its not working, ris it just a warning? might have to remove the hicas bulb from the instrument cluster...

honestly I think you'd feel it if it was the same problem I had cos in my theory the sensor was saying I was turning while I was driving straight..

In your case I would check the sensor anyway but check fluid levels and motor earths and the little connector to the computer
