Hi guys, I have a spare original Nissan key for my GTR but I'm told it must be encoded to the immobiliser to work. I have heard rumours that Nissan (locally) cannot or won't encode the key as the vehicle is an import. Does anyone have any experience with this? ANy info/advice would be appreciated.

Otherwise, I'm assuming you have to simply reinstall a completely new alarm/immob system...

I don't think it is a nissan policy, there are a nissan dealer or two in sydney that

are familiar and willing to do such work on imported nissans. So I suggest you

call the workshop of each dealer you can find until one says, ok, bring it by. They will

need a specific software module for their service tool, the one dealing with the version

of immobilizer you have.
