Hi all

I have an R33 GTS-T with an RB25det and im going to put on a forward facing plenum

My question is can you run cooler piping from a front mount to a forward facing plenum without cutting a hole in the side of the engine bay??

I dont want to run the piping back under the cooler and use the original holes because the piping would end up being way too long,

or should I just not worry bout it and cut a hole and hope I dont ever get questioned about it?

I'm pretty sure there would not be enough room to run the piping under the chassis rail and then straight up, but i cant check on my car as my engine is out at the moment, so im guessing theres no way around cutting a hole.

Just wanted to see if it has been done before or if anybody had any ideas on how to achieve it?

cheers

Tave

the shortest run is the best one.

CUT THE HOLE and buy a good intercooler not a cheep and nasty one.

yeah just cut it. we're all a bit precious when it first comes to it, but once the hole is there, you wont care.

paint any bare metal exposed on the hole to prevent rusting, and run a rubber thingy around the rim. what are they called? lol

use a good quality holesaw. i cut mine with a cheap cheap holesaw. doesnt work. it just grinds away the shape of a hole lol, but doesnt actually go through.

i ended up using a grinder and a dremel (15 bits later) to finish it up.

ahh fun times

who's done the forward facing plenum and then plumbed it through their existing hole? I dont want to have to change my washer bottle. I think Ive seen it done with a 90 degree bend straight off the throttle body to get down to and through the hole.

sorry to hijack but it is kinda a relevant question lol
