I really think if your not interested in a club, dont post in here, it wont affect you and I can safely say others don't want to hear your rubbish either?

Respectful to , Ruby and Kellie who have pulled the hard line stance to try and thwart the keyboard warriors who dont show up to any functions or contribute to the SAU benefit , if you would like to have your say in a future club show up to a meeting /BBQ and meet the person on the other end of the keyboard. its so easy to flame someone when your not a contibutor or have any intentions of being involved and never even met them face to face????

Ruby might sound a bit selfish , but its the hard line stance, meet the group face to face to understand why it has to be that way if this club will succeed . if you want input put up some cash to join, real clubs come at a cost to run just like a small biz does, get over it or get out... your choice? your not being forced to join up.

and remember club gets people involved in face to face activity, if your aniti-social stay home and play with yourself(computer keyboard or ?) enuff said

To me it makes a little sense to put up a small fee (20 bucks or so) to show your interested in the club,

is there a requirement for people such as treasurer etc to have a skyline or derivative of it ? a vested interest ?

not stir up the pot just wondering if that has been addressed or not ?

I have never seen a requriement to have a car to be in a car club or on the committee..If you are into cars and have the passion to help out that should be enough!! I think it would be pretty poor to turn down someone that wanted to help out just cause they didnt have a car..

We understand that.

At the moment, it is being discussed to limit the club to enthusiasts (not necessarily owners) of RB powered Skylines and Stageas. If we open the door to ANY Nissan import it gets too complex. We must draw the line somewhere. And you're level of "Skyline and Stagea enthusiast" will be recognised by the club. This is a structure I am currently nutting out for the club. We have a whole range of ideas for the club (such as support getting members off defects) that will be limited to enthusiasts, not simply owners of Skylines or Stageas. But we don't want a name decided by people who will never join. We will take down suggestions for new ideas and preferences for names at the BBQ, and discuss this (and other things) at our next meeting.

There will be a membership fee and that is being worked out by myself and the 'club organising committe' in the interim.

More will be discussed at the BBQ gathering. I've said enough for now and don't feel like repeating myself.

ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THE BBQ GATHERING ON THE 25TH APRIL

PM KELL FOR DETAILS.

Are you seriously going to turn away Non Nissan or NON skylines and stag even if the people are genuinely interested in join the club and paying cash... :D

You want the club to grow and with that comes mates of members with different cars that want to have as much fun and be part of a club as there friends

As long as the club puts out the right attitude and rules you shouldnt have any trouble with members cause they would be out before they could blink!

Be postitive guys you need to get this off the ground..See who wants to join before you say no cause its not a Nissan!

I am a perfect example actually..Had a GTR sold it now have a HSV R8 and will have another Nissan in the future but you wouldnt let me join just cause of the car make and model?? Even tho I am a Skyline/Nissan lover at heart..

Something to think about...

I'm taking the hardline to get this club off the ground. Too many SAU SA attempts have been knocked down by keyboard warriors, and people who just don't want to believe. Kell and I are working hard and if we chose to be ruthless to get the club running successfully (whatever it takes) then we do it for the interest of an SAU SA club, not in your view of an "ideal" club, nor because we are "selfish".

SAU SA hasnt been knocked down by keyboard warriors, know one until now has wanted to stepped up to take on the challenge of getting it off the ground..

I commend you guys!!

Yeah, we've thought about it already. There is too much speculation going on here right now. We are to be a club for Skyline and Stagea enthusiasts, not just owners! How about the speculation stops and everybody with an interest in the club come to the BBQ. ... but not you Jess, for the obvious reason :D

I am working on a system to be in place that encourages enthusiasts, not just owners.

If you're a Mazda driver, but get involved in events/meetings for the club, then you'll be held in higher regard than a Skyline owner who never contributes. Simple. Non-contributing members will not be deemed enthusiasts ... Contributing members will be deemed enthusiasts. Memberships will be based on that system.

Hey Roo, I'll have to get a new dictionary apparently, there must be a new one out that states:

Selfish - someone who gives up there valuable spare time to benifit others.

You are in no way selfish and i can completely understand your hardline approach, someone needs to do it, the other attempts to start a formal SAU SA club have failed because people lost interest after being jumped on by keyboard warriors.

Stick to your guns, I'll back you all the way. I'll still be there the next time we meet with SAPOL to try improving our "clubs" standing in the community.

I may not have the highest post count in the world considering ive been on here since 2004, but this is because i dont have the time to post for no reason.

I 100% agree with damo, SAUSA, following the rules of SAU clubs interstate that the basics of any RB platformed nissan is welcome.

Constructive comments are more than welcome, but did your mum ever tell you "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all". Maybe some people should learn to use this more often.

so the Hyundai Excels with massive body kits and frangipani stickers are welcome cause they coughed up 50 bucks ???? NO lol

and if you let everyone in, it turns into a power struggle over who has the best cars, holden, toyota, nissan etc? not a passion for everything cars sadly but true? wish it wasnt so, but it is

if you let everyone in, the club name shouldn't reflect SAU anymore but something else???

I understand not everyone can drive a line,,,Jess ? come back to the dark side you know you want too..lol

This is sounding more complex every minute...

You need this to get off the ground and focus..You need to vote in a comittee, decide finally on a name, write up a constitution and try and get some members

All this "enthusiasts" business is nothing unless the above gets happening

Dont get to ahead of yoursleves plus only two of you (Ruby & Kel) thinking all this stuff through is alot to take on and bare

Could even think of a survey to have at the meeting/BBQ to see what potential members want from this club..

A Dictatorship will never work..The below sentence is a worry..You will always have people that join and never do anything to help out but doesnt make them a lesser member

I am the type of person like you Ruby that likes to get involved and help out and make stuff happen thats why I am on a committee cause I get enjoyment out of it..others dont just want to pay there cash get there sticker and have fun..No harm in that

Holy Crap sapphiregraphics What car clubs have you been in??

Power stuggler on who has the best car?? :D Are you serious...SA has changed :D

You will find only Skylines and Stags and other nissans will join SAU SA but like I said friends of members who have a different rides shouldn't be outcasted..All I am saying :)

SA hasnt changed Jess, theres just a few with different points.

Seriously, form now onwards we are flogging a dead horse unless a steering committee is formed and feedback is run through them from members.

The club will be like a small business as said before. If i owned a chocolate shop, and someone who hated chocolate wanted to buy a $50 bar, but i knew he wasn't going to eat it, id sell it to him, hell yes i would.

Holy Crap sapphiregraphics What car clubs have you been in?? More then a few in my lifetime

Power stuggler on who has the best car?? :D Are you serious...SA has changed :)yeah its a shame Jess, I love cars doesnt matter what brand to me if its cool ? but partial to japanese cars for my own rides, SA in general end's up a pissing match a fair bit on corporate branding, my observations of a smallish town with a Holden plant in it. and the comments online or out in public .

You will find only Skylines and Stags and other nissans will join SAU SA but like I said friends of members who have a different rides shouldn't be outcasted..All I am saying :D

yeah Im sure the excel crowd wont join in a Skylne based club,, but hey if she's cute more power to em..lol

we already have a old mans stealth car with gun shot hole in the window...lol Hey. :D

Troy/Jess, Lets keep it peaceful. I see the point from both sides.

:D

Jess, PM sent trying to explain things a little better. No one will be outcasted based on car ownership. Remember, we're still shaping things as we go.

I know its alot for me and Kell, but we do have help, and its nothing compared to what I do everyday at work :D

I see so much potential for a club even now ... SAU members helping other SAU members with fitting brakes etc. Thats what a club is all about. This is the type of enthusiasm I want to promote more within the club.

As i have said before there is lots of issues with setting up a club like this and i am sure you have thought of most of them already.

It also depends whether you want this club to be criuse and motorsport based as well.

You will need a constitution written, some type of insurance for the club when on cruises, you will need to register as a not for profit organistion, open a bank account in the club name, possibly get a PO box, sort somewhere you can hold regular meeting that can hold all the members you expect that might join and lots of other stuff.

I was the secretary for Nissan SVD quite a few years ago and applaud the guys for trying to get this off the ground as it is not going to be easy and will take alot of there personal time to get up and running and then the people on the committee have to put in a fair amount of time to keep the club running smoothly.

Good luck guys and i will become a member once the club is up, but am trying to organise a wedding with my Fiance so that takes up a fair bit of my time.

Thanks for the input Shaun ... and good luck with the wedding! :D

We might endeavour to pick your brain (and Jess's) if we need some unsolved questions answered or guidance.

See thats the only problem with setting up a club, you'll always get those that dispute ideas. But as long as there is a solid foundation as to what will be accepted and tolerated. When i was with CCCSA we had the same, Those that will participate to benefit the club and those that will to benefit themselves.

I think having Ruby and Kell and the others with legitimate input is a great idea in helping things on their way. It is a hell of alot of work setting up a club as others have outlined as in PO box, registering name and associated paperwork.

I say give these guys a break and offer support and help if you can, that is the base foundation of any club.

omg i have never seen such crap!

I thought this was a good idea by kellie and offered to help out within the first 5minutes of her suggesting it.. but now all I see if a certain few the only want their opinions heard, shut other people down without a seconds thought and just make this whole thing look bad for everyone and make me and possibly others not want to be involved?!

I was in the SA ROTOR club an no not EVERYONE owned a rotor.. we were rotary enthusists! You should be listning to Sinful and taking all of her advice onboard aswell as the other people that have been involved from day 1 with a club and getting it started.
