LOL to some of the people on here

anyway the BBQ sould be great and we will see you all there

Kell, a final draft of the Rules and Constitution for SAU SA has been printed off ... all 11 pages and 35 sections of it. I will proof read tonight and get a copy to you and our other Interim Committee brothers prior to our meeting Friday night at Vilis. After this catch up, I will finish the mock up of our membership form and have the two ready as finals by the 25th.

We'll need to discuss a few finer points at our meeting ... or I'm home tonight if you wanted to duck in for a quick chat.

I have been PMed quite a bit about this club. This is one such PM which I felt should be openly dealt with for everyone's knowledge. I have removed the sender's name just for the hell of it.

The problem is that there has been way too many assumptions within the thread. Members trying to put words into my mouth and misleading other members to fearing the Nazis were coming.

I am more than open to newcomers. I do not know whatever gave you that impression. I was a newcomer myself last year. I even have a handful of newcomers who have already had a say and are helping putting this together, because they have discussed this with me and the others personally. Basically, anyone can have input into this, but I am taking constructive input from people in person far more seriously than comments in a forum, for the obvious reason. If you're a newcomer and I haven't personally met you yet, feel free to introduce yourself. It is a two way street. Sometimes I get carried away with socialising with the familiar faces, so I apologise if I don't get around to meeting some of you ... but feel free to approach me. I do not set out to ignore newcomers, so lets get that straight. :(

How am I pushing members away with my posts? It is other members assuming, speculating and being negative that have led to some of the confusion. I'm driving this thing forward as much as I can to make it happen, but I am not answering the same questions over and over. If anything I have said is interpreted as pushing members away, that is not my intention. My sole intention at the moment is to make SAU SA happen. A few toes will probably be stepped on, no doubt, but I'm going to get things done and the end result (I hope) will be seen as suitable to all. Remember: you can't keep everyone happy all the time.

You comment that I have committee members who personally attack newcomers? I have not even discussed the names of any potential/nominated committee members ... only that I "have people in mind". For the record, SAU SA will not tolerate attacks on any member, and that is written in the Constitution. The Interim Committee at this time are a handful of us (including newcomers) who have been the only ones so far to step up and give this a go ... we make do with what resources we have. I will take whatever help I can get. The Club Committee will be elected by its members and will follow the rules of the Constitution. So it will be as fair as possible. The persons I feel suitable for the Club Committee will be put forward to the Interim Committee for discussion and modification, then open for voting by paid members, as is drafted in the Constitution.

I suggest people stop making or reading too much into assumptions and attend the meetings/bbq to discuss to find out some solid info on the new club. I welcome you to come to our meeting to discuss the SAU SA club.

I do not see what you have written as a personal attack. I believe you have misunderstood me. But that is your opinion and you are welcome to it. I thank you for your input. I do not set out to make people like me, I set out to get jobs done. Please be patient and understanding.

this kind of response doesnt help anything, all u are doing is defending your position, and i doubt its really being taken on board as genuine criticism.

imo it would be worth taking a different attitude towards those kind of posts, it is someone telling you their honest feelings and all you're trying to do is argue them wrong.

as someone trying to set something like this up, you really can't take this kind of attitude.

I can assure you that its not the case luke. We will be SAU-SA pending Christians approval (which has been requested already).

We also have funkymonkey assisting us, and I'll be overseeing the construction of the club as impartially as possible.

The organisation will be transparent and open to all. Naturally there are loads of things to clarify now but I'm not willing to go into it until we have the blessing of the man who started this site.

Stay tuned.

I think its more of "Have we heard back from Prank?"

You should take your own advice. Do you actually read what you write before you hit the "Add Reply" button?

anyone spoken top PranK yet????

Yes.

why do the organisers of this so called club keep calling for a thread locking. they just want the last say.. kinda selfish aye.

again ill ask this, but in a much more diluted broken down easy to piece together kinda way.

this should be a skyline ONLY club or ALL cars club, yes? now would ruby go to the trouble hes going to now if Stageas wernt part of it or in the name of the club??

like others are hinting at but havnt quite hit the nail on the head. this club doesnt seem to be in the best interest of SAU. hell it has nothing to do with sau. i still havnt seen any word of the organisers asking the owner of sau for permission to use sau's name in a unrelated club.

u guys had ur very first meet at vilis.. surprise surprise. i thought this was a new endevour. i still dont see the advantage in this opposed to sau as current.

to me it seems like a few mates fulfulling their own agenda using the sau name to pave the road of recruitment.

this is just an observation of mine. and only an observation. and yes i probably will be attacked for this aswell.

first thing: we are being told to pm people like kellie, and ruby, and YOUWISH, yet this person has not even contributed anything to this thread at all. so how can you say to pm someone that isnt even contributing via the forums? i would have thought that someone that would be interested in starting up a club would actually be showing this via contributing to the thread, even then, not just this thread, but the SA section. have i missed something here at all??

second thing: i wont be apart of it due to the fact of all the bull shit that i have read. i do wish you guys all the luck in the world, and i hope it all works out. but i just can be apart of the amazing amount of bullshit thats already going on. sorry guys.

we should be at villis roo... i'll message you if anything changes :)

Sweet. We'll shape things up a bit more then. :(

I'm emailing you a copy of the Constitution. Happy reading! :(

when i saw this thread i thought someone would pull the thumb out of their arse and get SAU SA organised (seeing as we have SAU VIC, NSW, WA and QLD up and running). The guys I've met in SA are an awesome bunch, and they all were keen to get something official going.

There's plenty of wankers with skylines in VIC, and we still run the club. Its inevitable that they'll join up, but when they do its in the club rules that their membership can be revoked if the committee decides that they are out of line.

That said from the posts you've made it seems that this is more about you than actually starting a club to help the guys on SAU :(Just remember you need to be SAU SA to operate tightly with this forum. Your personal little car club of hand picked members won't cut it. It needs to be open to the public.

Anyways, this is where I butt out of this thread. Good luck.

Steve, few posts up, organisers have contacted Prank, haven't heard back

to all: Re read a few things on here, i think Shan is worth listening to. Especially the bold part. And the bold part relates to "SAU being open to all members of the public as Skyline Enthusiasts".

I hope Shan does have more things to say, these are the opinions and experiences the should be heard and taken in, otherwise risk exclusion from SAU, which will provide the base a car club depends on to operate.

occasionally u really hit the nail on the head steve, and this is one of those times.

I have also contacted Funkymonkey in the interim until I hear from Prank. I'll be sending both Prank and Funkymonkey a copy of the draft Constitution (subject to final print) so they can see the club is headed in the right direction. I'm open to any constructive input they have.

:P

OMG this is proof half of you do not read all the posts in this thread. I said that in the first couple when I was in the SA ROTORS we were a Rotary Enthusiasts club and that you did not need to own one to be involved with the club and what they did.

Im with cara on this one.. until I see some changes on it I will not become a member.

Yes, that is correct Damo.

This thread seems to go around in the same old circles - hence probably why they keep saying close it.

Come down to the BBQ, meet the people behind the names, discuss the issues face-to-face and reach some verdicts together.

I think the best idea is that if people have questions, best they turn up to either Villi's this friday night or the BBQ on the 25th. I just read through the whole 19 pages, seems alot of the same quetions are coming up over and over again. The fact is that this is going to be a fledgeling club in SA with the backing of our interstate members hopefully.

Yes a club does take a while to get running smoothly, the more ideas everyone can come up with at this early stage, the better things will be in the long run.

In short a club is like a business, you have to offer things which people will be interested in, but you can't cater for everyones wants or needs.
