I'd say its a coincidence. Mothers day is unfortunate, I would have come anyhow, and still do plan to attend the sat but thems the breaks. Can't cater to everyone - I myself didn't know there was a track day because I'm not really paying attention to that right about now. Once the club is up and running I'm sure the committee will endeavour to hold it at times compatible to the majority of cams schedules (bear in mind there are a load of events, sometimes a cams event may just coincide with a planned club event. these things do happen, but I can say that its in everyones interests that we keep cams days and club days separate (unless theyre in support of each other )

lol i know its not a deliberate attempt, but what the hell is this club about if not about events like drift practice? i personally dont see the point in paying to be in a CAMS affilialted "social" club which is only interested in meeting at villis and going crusing on a friday night. moving a meeting onto one of the most popular regular CAMS events shows a complete disregard for the motorsport side of things.

well stewy,i wanted to sleep in that morning(saturday) get up,have a piss, eat a piece of toast and watch the telly in my undys.how dare someone organise something like that on a saturday...?

guess i mite just have to put some pants on and show my support for SAU-SA

its not a big deal, dont make it into one man

The "club" is still in infancy so rocking up to a CAM's event is a bit over the top ???, Villis is casual and central for the most part, perfect for sorting out minor details and talking car smut. noob's can feel welcome at Villi's. its not flash but in time maybe we can get a better location? patent but positive people????

Villi's has Pie too..lol

stop whinging , I drive 100k + round trip to come to villi's, but hey I don't mind every now and then, even if i have to see dans old man car, and dave's 200...lol

you having a piss isnt a massive part of what the club is about though is it?

you're completely missing the point, i dont think u guys realise why u pay such a fee to be in a club like this? a lot of it is to simply for CAMS affiliation so you can focus on the motorsport side of things. i havnt seen any talk in this thread about motorsport events being organised or supported which makes me think its the furthest thing from the organisers mind, then chosing to organise a meeting on one of the biggest regular motorsport events, then saying owell, big deal, just confirms my thoughts.

dont think u really have any idea of what im suggesting, have a read again, not suggesting we go to mallala for the meeting.

stewy, its either upset you,or upset everyones mum cause their kids at a "car club thing" on mothers day.dude, get over your fears of SAU-SA,it will go ahead even if little stewy isnt happy about it.like you said, its not just about cruising or vili's,and at the same time its not all about your drift practice either

I can see where you are coming from Stewy, and because the date has already been changed, i doubt it will change again. Im more than happy to put forward any views of those who cannot attend via proxy vote, as is Ruby. I can tell you, being CAMS affiliated and arranging regular events is high on my priority list for the club, and i would assume that its on alot of other agendas.

Yes, motorsport events are most definitely on the agenda.

Just because it does or doesn't say something on this thread, it doesn't mean its the same for the actual club.

The invite was there to PM, email, phone or meet me, to get a better understanding of the club directions. Notice a pattern here that all persons who have approach me or Kell are supporting the club? The invite has been out there to PM me with an email address and I will send a copy of the Constitution. I find the people complaining are the ones who have not bothered to read a copy. Ask for a copy and I will provide.

This club is still in its teething stage, but we are getting there and I'm happy with the progress. Meetings still need to be arranged for memberships, committee votes, and generally informing people of the direction the club is going. SAU SA is in its early stages and we'll take each opportunity as it comes. Ministry of Bass are kind enough to offer their premises ... thanks Simon :/ And we wish to meet a time line of '2 weeks for next meeting' then '2 weeks for committee vote' so its an even spread of events. So we just gotta stick to our guns to make that timeline comfortable for most people ... and upsetting mothers on Mother's Day is not my ideal way of doing this.

Saturday 9th May @ 1pm has been confirmed with Simon at Ministry of Bass.

This has been going on for awhile now and I've purposely stayed out of discussion and tried very hard not to flame some of the c**kheads in here that can't help themselves.

My initial thoughts of this going to completion were pretty negative and not because (unlike many of you) I thought that Roo had a personal agenda, but because of the lack of interest shown in Model #1 when poor Cubes tried very hard to get it off the ground.

As soon as the 1st thread was created by Ruby for Round #2, all I saw was the knockers and wannabes coming out of the woodworks with no real interest in the club except to give their unwarranted hero opinions, regardless of whether they contained constructive substance or not!

If you've ever had a successful business, you'll be one of the very few that understands how much opposition you get and how many walls you run into during establishment, but only determination & persistence eventually pays off. This club was a long time in the coming but none of the knockers would dare put their hand up and take on the challenge.

The fact that Ruby has stated that he has not nominated for the committee proves to all of you that he has no personal agenda.......period!

The fact that he has clearly ignored many of the ridiculous posts in here proves that he sees the bigger picture and doesn't waste all his time trying to please every clown that can't make a particular meeting.......ffs, get over yourselves, you're not that important!! There are bigger fish to fry and as everyone involved keeps repeating, it's in its infantry process and will have teething problems.

And for those that think that I have a personal agenda too, Ruby had no idea that I was posting this and I have no personal involvement in the present structure of the club.

This whole process has clearly grown legs and appears to be full steam ahead.......don't come across as sooky little girls by saying "I'm not gonna join" cause if and when you finally do, you'll look like dickheads.

Ahh Pete. I love you in a non sexual way. >

I've got membership forms rolling in now. Thanks to those persons

Feel free to pass on your payment Friday night at the usual places, or call me on 0449 928 227 if you wanna see me in person.

Sorting out the bookkeeping in MYOB and will have a report prepared to show members and payments :)

You're right Pete. I've started up businesses (for friends/family and my current employer) and I've been manager where I'm at now for 10 years ... and this car club still isn't easy. :)

i think the prob with vilis and bp west tce is its done to death. every friday sitting around doing the same old stuff, hence why i dont go out of my way to meet u guys. however if im going past i stop and say hello to a few people.

its the same as anzac kmart and freedom back in the day (however freedom was cool lol).

i drive past anzac kmart on the way to town on weekends and see a bunch of commo's parked there sitting around chatting. fair enough, nothing against meeting up with friends (even tho i can see the same cars during work hours; after all commo's in a carpark isnt a uncommon sight). then on the way home from town around 4am theres STILL commo's there. i just shake my head and think, what a night out sitting around doing nothing, if ur gona sit around, do it at a pub or mates place or somewhere entertaining, not a car park or servo. and week after week its the same deal, same shit, different weekend. i hardly see how thats enticing for people to query about what u guys are doing and possibly join in.

and vilis is getting like that, same shit every friday. at least go for a bit of a cruise, mates place, town, hell even another food outlet. people get bored with repetition.

*awaits 'if ur not intereted in joining dont come in our thread as theres nothing i could possibly learn from ur reply' reply.

oh, so now we can insult people? awesome! or is that special privileges for mods only?

all ill say is that i want to see a decent SAUSA club, its not just another random club i can choose to not join, as i want to be a part of the SAUSA club, the issue is the format in which this attempt was made is completely wrong imo, and a few people piping up with feedback isnt going to change this.

i would rather see the club setup by someone like cubes actually interested in improving the SAU community by being interested in actively organising events, rather than some person who comes on here after a while, not with the best reputation when it comes to these things i might add, and clearly is more interested in her own personal agenda than anything else, then half way down the line it gets discussed that maybe it should be called SAUSA club. it's just a recipe for a really bad club, or at least a club that i have no interest in. which is unfortunate as like i mentioned, i would love to be part of the SAUSA club.

popcorn plz

we could go somewhere other than vilis. vilis has a pretty good parking setup thats why i like it there. is the location of the meeting really that important? come on dude im sure you could bear it for 1 meeting about the club

Think about it.......Noisy, heaps of people, space, privacy non existant.

It just simply isnt a ideal location at all, forget your top notch parking, forget your pies and donuts, You only need to run a meeting once a month or every two weeks MAX, Our club(thats right people i venture to IPRASA club meeting regularly as mentioned WHY im not associating myself here) have our meetings at the Directors hotel on Gouger st, meetings are held every third monday in the month, Its held up stairs in privacy, and in a quiet room. We rock up a bit early and have a dinner and couple beers before the meeting starts, we chat, we mingle, we have a meeting, we chat and mingle some more, we head home, done. All this in a professional manner.

Stewy, Its a bit hard for them to do anything for drift or grip via CAMS out at the track apart from putting dates on a SAUSA calendar, until there are funds then they should go for at least 2 private SAUSA track days a year, which can accommodate grip and drift in the one day. Thats just my views anyways, people can take it or leave it, or argue it, whatever really!!

    • Oh yeah forgot to also mention need to also unplug the IACV as well. Thanks for the reminder @MBS206 Unplugging the TPS takes it out of closed loop so you're able to screw down the IACV without the ECU trying to add/subtract timing to maintain the idle (not sure PowerFC can even do this, but Nistune and the OEM definitely does)
    • For sale is my 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T, tuned to 234 kW / 313 hp. I've had the car for a few years as my daily driver. The car is original (as far as Skylines go), with only a few minor upgrades to enhance performance and driving experience, as typical for such a car of its age. Overall, it is in great condition with no body rust, thanks to its earlier import date. It features a top-notch security system (not literally, but it's great!) with remote start and still functional 4-wheel steering via HICAS. It comes with several performance and handling upgrades, including:     Hypergear 450HP Turbocharger running 17 PSI boost, installed mid-2021 by Jaustech     550cc injectors     Nistune ECU     Front-Mount Return-Flow Intercooler     X-Force Stainless Steel Exhaust     Upgraded engine mounts     Bottom end bearings replaced     BC Coilovers     Lenso DR1 rims     Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 TL 245/40R18 97W tires, fitted early 2023 The interior is mostly stock, with a few additions:     Viper Satellite Tracking System with remote start     Bluetooth Double-Din Touchscreen Head Unit     Steering wheel cover Cons:     A few paint imperfections here and there     Driver’s seat shows more wear than the others. It's not torn at all, but I've added a seat cover to protect its condition. I also have a CarVX Vehicle History report available for serious buyers, so you don’t need to purchase it yourself. Price: $26,000 ONO.
    • I've had two suzukis in the past have an extremely hard time turning over and not starting after sitting for a few weeks. Ended up the alternator would seize up causing the starter to force. Same issue both times.  Maybe they're sourcing their alternators from the same place...
    • Ah right. Maybe my rb just loves chewing through batteries lol.
    • On the R34 can't you just unplug the IACV? This is the way I've always done it on the R33. Disconnect IACV, get it idling around 650rpm, and then do a power reset on the ECU to get it to relearn idle (factory ECU).   The big reason no one has touched on as to why you'd want to get the base idle right, is that it means the computer needs to make smaller adjustments to get a good idle at 700-750rpm.   Also, cleaning the IACV won't normally make the car suddenly idle lower or higher. The main issue with the IACV gumming up is that the valve sticks. This means the inputs the ECU gives, aren't translating to changes in air flow. This can cause idle choppy ness as the ECU is now needing to give a lot of input to get movement, but then it moves too far, and then has to do the same in reverse, and it can mean the ECU can't catch stalls quickly either.
