When someone comes back from a holiday, I would've thought they would sneak in thru the Wasteland back door without making too much noise due to embarrasment and the ridicule experienced by other members on here, yet Ted180 comes back here and takes up where he left off.........some peeps just don't get it and seem to suffer no shame.

Have another fortnight off sunshine for that last bit of vilification (that I deleted) directed towards a good contributing member......we need more of him on here and alot less of you!

Everybody back on topic please.

Just a note to say that Shane (RBWARE) and myself will not be able to make it to Vilis tonight but will be interested in checking out/assisting with constitution and setting up ( If we can be of assistance as we are ex-committee members from other clubs) at the BBQ next week. Catch you guys then...

WOW, what a read, just couldnt help myself here had to post.......

Couldnt give 2 shits if you take it as constructive critisism or not, take it how you read it i guess, not here to win friends thats for sure!!

Firstly, People can nominate people for chair positions, If you want in on this club and dont like the people who are taking control now, get your mates together and vote someone you like in as President or VP, simple!!

Secondly, If there are people out there that dont want to become a member but still have input, dont not listen to them. The way i see it with all the Newbie running the show around here these days, they need the input!!

Thirdly, DONT meet a Villis and then move onto BP West Tce, FFS that just shows how pathetic this is all gonna be. Meet at someones house go to a pub have dinner and talk about it, not Maccas and then a full hectik cruise to West Tce!!

Fourth, As someone already stated, THIS IS A BUSINESS with every members money involved, you need the money, you need the members, and also as stated you CAN NOT discriminate on types of cars, business's dont turn people down because they come from a derro northern suburb, cash is cash, simple!!

Fithly, EVERYONE seems to be getting Waaaaaaay ahead of themselves!! Like a bunch of kids in a candy store some of you are.

Sixthly, You wont ever get my membership!!

Seventhly, As much as it pains me to say it, Take on Martin and Shanes help to organise this club, they have been in the scene longer than most and know alot of people who COULD help this club get to where it SHOULD be in time to come.

Lastly, Is it just me or is it the majority of the newbies(under 2 years) on here that are spearheading this circus?? I wonder why most if not all of the older members like myself dont want anything to do with it, we have all tried to do it in the past, so we have obviously wanted this to happen before, so dont go telling us "your not gonna join because you think it wont work again" BULLSHIT!!

Jesus, cant believe i held my tongue that long before!!

Oh and also, people who are organising, be open to all sorts of critisism, from just reading here it seems as tho you have all made up your minds on whats going on, and not giving anyone a say in the matter!! Now thats coming from someone who has just given points for both sides of the story!!

I'm glad you have read and had your say. For the record I agree with most of it, and I'm gonna reply to it in depth tomorrow morning when im quite a bit more sober, but I will say after tonights meeting, and having read the draft charter, that I have full confidence in this proposal. I've also put my money where my mouth is. I'm gonna try to be there for the bbq, and I hope as many of you will come, even the skeptics. Come for the sausage n bread and a chinwag, and lets see if we cant surprise you. And Im glad you can freely criticise, because I do appreciate it as do the rest of the folks involved so far. I find it a little disappointing that you state outright that you have no interest in joining, which kind of clashes with you second point about not listening to people who dont want to join :stupid: Paraphrased, perhaps, but I see your point.

(and even tho you're not a joined member, if your argument makes logical and practical sense, I'll listen to it. simple as that really...)

Dont be dissapointed, there could be many reasons as to why i wont join this club, the main reason is because im involved with helping a number of mates within the SA State Motor Racing scene, one of which is the Improved Production Racing Association, Although not a member i do venture to as many club meetings as i can, So i see the runnings of a club to which my mate is Vice Pres, therefore for me to get myself a CAMS licence if wanted, I will be joining their club.

Ahh well thats cool, say no more :stupid: In that case I'd take your opinion a little more serious, given your experience.. opinions are uber

thanks

Dohmar, thanks for input yesterday. I'll get a receipt to you asap (we want to be professional about this, don't we?) :geek:

I'm pleased with those who attended Vilis last night and took the time to read (or at least skim thru) the Constitution. All constructive input is valued and helps to shape things a little better. It appears everyone is happy with the structure of the Constitution and the Club.

:stupid:

Both your inputs are welcome. I'll PM you the details of the BBQ shortly. If you can PM me your email address, I'll email you a copy of the draft Constitution.

You did well to hold your tongue. :D

We have been open to constructive critisism. I have corresponded via PM with many people, rather than add to an already cluttered thread. But we are (or I should say I am) not open to dramatic speculation and slagging. This thread went OT and personal quite a bit. I felt sorry for the Mods having to tidy things up ... as is evident by the holidays being handed out. People have been given the chance to read the draft Constitution. People have been given the chance to have a say.

The meet at Vilis is a regular thing we do on Friday nights. Doesn't matter if its a pub or Vilis, we are still meeting at a venue which caters for our numbers ... and its a venue we are familiar with and has readily available parking. Plus Vilis is a favourite for us, and no one else has mentioned otherwise. And we did get 1.5 to 2 hours discussion in before moving to West Terrace. It wasn't a designated Interim Committee meet, just a normal friday night gathering.

The BBQ fundraiser/open meet is being held at a private residence. I'll PM you the address if you wish to attend.

    • Ah right. Maybe my rb just loves chewing through batteries lol.
    • On the R34 can't you just unplug the IACV? This is the way I've always done it on the R33. Disconnect IACV, get it idling around 650rpm, and then do a power reset on the ECU to get it to relearn idle (factory ECU).   The big reason no one has touched on as to why you'd want to get the base idle right, is that it means the computer needs to make smaller adjustments to get a good idle at 700-750rpm.   Also, cleaning the IACV won't normally make the car suddenly idle lower or higher. The main issue with the IACV gumming up is that the valve sticks. This means the inputs the ECU gives, aren't translating to changes in air flow. This can cause idle choppy ness as the ECU is now needing to give a lot of input to get movement, but then it moves too far, and then has to do the same in reverse, and it can mean the ECU can't catch stalls quickly either.
    • 12.8 for a great condition, fully charged battery. If the battery will only ever properly charge to about 12.2V, the battery is well worn, and will be dead soon. When I say properly charge, I mean disconnect it from the car, charge it to its max, and then put your multimeter on it, and see what it reads about an hour later. Dieing batteries will hold a higher "surface charge", but the minutest load, even from just a multimeter (which in the scheme of things is considered totally irrelevant, especially at this level) will be enough over an hour to make the surface charge disappear.   I spend wayyy too much time analysing battery voltages for customers when they whinge that our equipment (telematics device) is causing their battery to drain all the time. Nearly every case I can call it within about 2 months of when the battery will be completely dead. Our bigger customers don't even debate it with me any more ha ha ha. A battery at 12.4 to 12.6 I'd still be happy enough with. However, there's a lot of things that can cause a parasitic draw in a car, first of which is alarms and immobilisers. To start checking, put your multimeter into amps, (and then connect it properly) and measure your power draw with everything off. Typical car battery is about 40aH. Realistically, you'll get about half this before the car won't start. So a 100mA power drain will see you pretty much near unstartable in 8 days.
    • Car should sit at 12.2 or more, maybe 12.6 or 12.7 when fully charged and happy. If there is a decent enough parasitic load then it will certainly go lower than 12.2 with time. You can't beat physics.
    • Ok guess I can rule out the battery, probably even the starter and alternator (maybe) as well. I'm gonna clean those leads and see what happens if it's still shit I might take it to an auto electrician. Unless the immobiliser is that f**king heavy, but it shouldn't be.  If I start the car every day, starts up perfectly never an issue. Isn't 12v low, shouldn't it be around 12.5v?
