Hi everybody !

I'm stephane, a french student at macquarie Uni .... I registered on this site because i like Japanese cars, especially skylines (unfortunately we don't have this one in France!)

I have some questions for you :

1/ I saw at macquarie uni a few skylines, and i'd like to know if the drivers are registered here !?

2/ I think you have some kind of meetings for sport cars, and i'd like to know where it is, and when ... (In france for exemple it's every friday night, at a specific place, with a few runs....)

3/ Do you have around Sydney some circuits ? I just want to have a look, i don't have any car here ...

4/ If somebody is living around Marsfield, and accept to have a drink and talk about skylines, it would be a pleasure !

It's the bad point when you're international student, no car any more, no friends to speak about swap and runs, ... so if you can help me ... Thankssssssss Steph

This weekend has 2 good events to go watch;

Eastern Creek Open day on Saturday, MDTC day on Sunday.

Eastern Creek is a Sydney based track, lots of good spots to watch from, also EC is quite easy to get to.

MDTC is a much smaller place, the track is 1km long. This one is about 90mins south of Sydney by car, the speeds arent as high as EC.

There should be Skylines at both places :ermm:

Thursday nights there are a few people who meet up north of Sydney and go up the central coast. We dont have runs though, we leave that to the track :D

We have a members only track day in May, that shall be fun!

I notice you dont have a car...my R33 is for sale!! :ermm:

Hey Steph

I live in Marsfield, and drive past the uni accommodation a couple of times a day. Chances are I'm one of the skylines you've seen (White R33 GTS-T)..

As Chris said - the runs are left for the track.. Wednesday nights at Eastern Creek they have drags for street cars. As for illegal street drags, if they still happen in Sydney you probably wont find out about them on the internet. Police are pretty tough when it comes to street racing so it's far far underground now.

Thanks for all your answers !!

For Eastern creek tomorrow, i already have plans  but i had a look on their website, for next events !!

MDTC is unfortunately too far for me .... :)

@evil_weevil : i like your car, but i already spent my money for studying here lol ! Good luck for your sale !

@primordial : i saw some white R33, maybe it was you ! I actually live in front of the woolworth (balaclava rd)...

do you take part in wednesday nights at eastern creek ?

Well weekend after this one (April 10th - 13th) is a drift day at Oran Park, north circuit. Skylines aren't seen much at these days, but majority of cars are Japanese (RSP13, S14, AE86, KE70, the odd A31 ect ect)

Thinking about attending it to see what my Stagea wheels can do. Hopefully in 3rd gear I can burn tyres and not clutch

nah dont do the drags on wednesdays, I prefer track racing personally.. my car is not really set up for drag anyway.. suspension is too hard!

at that woolworths every now and then so it could have been me.. there are plenty of white R33's around though :)

i use to frequent mac uni and balaclava road that area. And use to wait at the bus stop opposite the car park!

i'll be there in a hour or so to wait for my gf you can come down and say hi if you want

oh ps it's a white r33

i got to mac uni - you would have seen my white R34 in the car park a few times - would be happy to chat if you like

:D R34 Liner! i think ive seen you at Maq Uni... i go there to!

    • That's awesome. Fully serviced/full log book history for one of those cars is super rare from what I know. With JDM's like Skyline's, Supras, are quite hard to find one with full log book history. S15's seem to be somewhat of an exception, at least the spec s australian delivered models.
    • Hey all, It's been a bit since I have been able to update.  I pulled the fuel pump, first off it was a "universal" pump and the strainer was very clogged, and it was folded over on itself.  I replaced the fuel pump and all is well....  No more stalling.
    • That's convinced me I'll bump up the G30-660 to 770   Any idea if the difference in boost pressure? Cheers

    • Hey guys so turns out this project is going to be much bigger than I thought haha but I've done some my homework and have done a few panels on my car, but one part I can just not visualise is this. If I do a spot repair and I put filler in a dent for example and sand outside of the repair with 320 grit lets say so the primer can stick as I will only put primer on that repair and the surrounding area and then repaint the whole panel. Don't I need to make sure that I don't put primer on the old clear coat? I keep seeing YouTube videos where people have new paint and primer land on the old clearcoat that isn't even dulled down, it's still shiny. I thought putting paint on clearcoat or primer on clearcoat is a bad idea because it won't stick. So in this scenario it's a bit different to mine but imagine someone doing a spot repair and only painting that small section of repair but the new paint is landing on the old clearcoat. What am I missing?
