Hey,

Went to roof rack world on the pacific highway looking for a roof rack......after I explained what the car was. . . they looked at the fitting space under the black cap. Saw the bracket and bolt points and said No.

Clearly they can have roof racks so does anyone know a model and name of one that fits in with little or no hassle.

Getting a tow bar just for MTB is to costly and the roof racks are a better option for me. .

Thanks

Jules

Roof Rack world in Artarmon...Dickson street me thinks

Do you happen to know the make and model number. . . the Kiwi ones look good for $300'ish. .. . but local is better if I can. . got any pics of yours. . .

For what it's worth (and from what I can gather), the Japanese part number is "KIT4716" for the bars & mounting bracket as a set.

Hi guys,

New to the forum and looking at buying a Stagea soon so will be posting a few questions about the car before I buy :nyaanyaa: .

Just a question about the roof rack placements, is it only front and middle you can place the racks or is there a mounting point further back closer to the boot?

Cheers.

front and middle only yes

a pity that because it makes it difficult to carry a kayak unlike c34 stag

Thanks for the reply.

Bit of a pain as I would like use the rack for long items. Looks like a towbar is in order.

Cheers.

They are far enough apart that they will support a 11 foot windsurfer or 2 so they are not too bad. The good thing about where they are placed is that you can still open the tailgate fully with items on top.

Cheers

hmmm, I'd been thinking of changing the rs4s for a m35 (the wife wants an auto...), but won't after reading this post.. I use the roof rails on stagea for carrying looong things, and the rails on the m35 look useless.

I've also made a T frame that comes up from the tow bar, so I attach things at the front, middle, back on the roof, and beyond from the towbar - ie I've carried 8m long steel poles home on the stagea, and it does 6m with ease... And 2.4m*1.2m sheeting fits on the roof bars withno problem.. I couldn't do any of that with a m35!

  • 5 months later...

Finally some better weather, tried out the soft roof rack setup i had on my old car. Damn that long flat roof is a pain but we got the kayak on there ok, lucky i dont live to far from the beach. May switch to trailer setup in future, ends up being a lot easier....

Hi Guys,

Sorry to reopen an old topic, but I am looking to get a roof rack on my M35 and have had the same difficulties finding a suitable one.

What model/part number Thule roof rack is it that people have been installing on their M35s, and what have they used for the riser?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Brendan
