Hey guys hows it goin?

Well i'm on the verge to start looking at buying myself a skyline... now here's the part everyone is goin to groan at.... and yes i have done searches through the site.

R33 or r32?

i think the r33's are a bit common but on stock they are a bit faster on the quater mile have more room and are more rounded.

The r32s are a sharper looking car, more agressive, however on stock are a bit slower and smaller room wise.

What dya recon?.... i'm looking for something that drives and handles well as well as looks good and has a bit of room.... on that note is the r32 too small to fit in say 4 ppls on the rare occasion?

Any details, pictures would be a great help in choosing a car based on the look and handling and speed of the car.

P.S anything to look out for when searching through the showrooms?

BTW this is my first performance car so..... whether that makes much of a difference:D:D

Thanks

just go out and test drive some to see the diff urself. all good to read experiences, but u have to experience it urself to decide. bring three other mates along too and chuck em in the car also...haha. sure a certain model is faster in 1/4 mile than another, but how often do u fang 1/4 miles anyways. i own a 33 myself, though i like the aggressive look of a 32, i cant part with the space and creature comforts of a 33, that and it being not as old also. anyways good luck with deciding what u get, im sure ull be happy either way:D:D:D

Add yourself to the J-spec mailing list, this will give you more information about what's out there. I prefer 33's to 32's but then again i prefer 4 doors, so go figure. Also you can import a car cheaper than buying it locally or get a better car for your budget, mind you patience is the key word when importing. 32 gtr is my recommendation mmmmmmm RB26DETT

32! 32! 32! hehe 33's are too common, and stock for stock, the 32 is more fun to drive, the 33 is too luggish, altho with mods the 33 performs far better than a 32.

Hoever, these days the 15yr old 32 GTR is just as expensive as a 33 GTSt... so the question is... how many turbs do you want??

Things to look out for when going to dealers... look for rust n stuff behind guards, under the car etc, and see if it matches the amount of km on the dash... sometimes they're wound back.

Always take it for a test drive before u buy. and take a couple of corners, make sure you work the car up to 5th gear as well.

a) dont base ur judgement on commonality (if there is such a term)

always get what U want. If you had 250k to spend on a car and liked porsches do u think u would opt for a 427 (if they ever went into production) over a GT3 because their were too many on the road? i think not.

B) make ur own decisions.

never let other people persuade u into buying a car. Go to a dealership and test drive the ones you have narrowed it down to.

c) make sure u can afford it

never buy a car that u cannot afford COMFORTABLY. Just because a car is within ur price range doesnt mean you can afford to keep it. Insurance is the biggest factor and from memory you are young and insurance UNDER UR NAME will not be cheap. Then theres fuel, maintenance (turbo cars are high maintenance). 3RD PARTY should NOT be an option.

d) dont drive a car u cant handle

Looking in ur profile ur only 17... my advise to u is BUY A GTS not a GTST. Learn to drive that properly for 2 years THEN buy a GTST especially if ur not going to insure it fully.

buy my 33 skyline.. thats the best advice i can give :D

my 2nd: NEVER buy from a dealer..

or you could buy a GTS and dump a RB25DET in it when you have the money.. always fun, and easy conversion.

or even better.. get a GTs-t and just take the engine out and sit it in your driveway for 12 months....and tell your mates how you're just waiting for the T67 to arrive from Japan before its all fitted.. might not even have to pay insurance then, or those pesky petrol costs! fullsik

p.s. don't buy a 32.. coz then you'll have to work at iPrimus for like forever.. and you'll also have to watch out, because one day your g/f might get a car that will beat you... and you'll have that disappointing feeling of losing to a girl while everybody watches.. but of course i'm just theorising here.

LoL what a crack up :D feel sorry for Chriss, got caught in someone else conflic.

As long as it a skyline, 33 will give you more room and a bit more throttle respond ......ect

32 is more chuckable, sharp looks and from HPI point of view, the engine is better for done up kind of thing cos it has long stroke whatever.....ect..:

Good luck and yeah don't go to the DEALER.:shake:

go to a dealer, test drive cars, pretend to buy, find a car you're comfortable in...

if the car intimidates you don't buy it, you need a car that you feel you can control. Plus you need sumfin that will get you head...

r33 have stronger gearbox, more torque,

more room inside, and parts and aftermarket parts are more readily available.

They are also NEWER and newer is BETTER...

$25k - pft ! pst: i know where you can get one for at least $3k less than that, 5 times more mods too .. lol :)
