I believe - for things like pins, bonnet scoups and so on... if they fall outside whats legal (and basically all of them do)

Then its an engineers, same as a non factory motor, brakes, suspension and so on that affect the car over general roadworthy...

By general i mean things like tyres, head/tail lights, seatbelts, "H" pattern on gearknob... all that pissy stuff in otherwords :)

So you would have filled the non-general. just because you put the factory bonnet on doesnt mean you aint going to swap it back later ;)

Same as the EPA has an apparent 3-strike rule... if you get 3 basic exhaust noise tests then they haul you in for a full EPA to check as obviously your swapping out mufflers and whatever else. Or they start taking pics and then your really fked.

Q57: When can i use the fog lamps on my car

A: There is no restriction on the use of front fog lamps. However the lamps must be correctly aimed as fog lamps so as not to dazzle other road users. Rear fog lamps may only be lit in abnormal weather conditions

Found that little bit of information interesting, however there may have been a new rule put in since then. If anyone has it in writing would be good.

Those rear lights are f**king blinding too, i use to do a run to warrnambool and back every night, one night i was following a chick in an excel and every time she put her high beams on she would put on her fog lights, no need for them but she did it every time and the rear light would light up the cab of the truck, in the end every time she put on her fog lights i would put my high beams on, did it all the way from colac to the next major town which i cant remember the name of, probably a good 50 k's.
