Purchased this R32 GTST 3 weeks ago. Its had regular oil changes but doesnt look like much has been done in actually doing regular maintenance and inspections

So heres the car after I gave it a much needed wash and polish, boy was it faded, came up mint tho!

and so here is what I am doing

Installing a new Bosch 040 fuel pump

replacing all radiator, bypass and heater hoses with genuine nissan hoses

replacing all the hicus and power steering hoses

replacing all the 8mm & 6mm fuel hoses (still wondering if I should put 10mm fuel line on it yet

replacing all fuel, fluid and coolant hose clamps with darty ones

replacing rocker cover seals, D rubbers and bolt down seals

re-sealing all water fittings to intake manifold and block

getting the gearbox reconditioned at work

also removing the hicus

motor and turbo are sound so will be nice and reliable now :(

il post pics up as I am replacing them, im off to the shop tomorrow to pickup some more hoses and clamps

i bought all the coolant hoses that run around the back of the engine and under the plenum, not the heater or radiator hoses though

they set me back about $340 which is for 7 hoses i think

the 3 heater hoses are about $200

you can't do much else except get genuine because they are moulded items so you can't just whip down to supercheap and get some hose because it won't last.

exactly mystery_kid

well Im not about to write down each hose price as I can get a very good capricorn price which I am not about to reveal but the whole gearbox rebuild, all the water, fuel and fluid hoses and fuel pump and all new trident hose clamps is very roughly $1050 off the top of my head and that is using all genuine water hoses apart from 2 rad hoses and the two small hoses a the backside of the head that lead to the turbo, everything else is genuine, fuel hoses and fluid hoses I purchased about 10 metres of hte shit so I have ample supply and about 70 hose clamps now lol

pays to be in the industry

heres some pics of the parts all cleaned up.. nice and clean through out, rocker covers are spotless inside :P

I have 90% of engine bay back together and i will upload pics of how it went back together ect when i get a chance...

first gearbox I have ever rebuilt so very happy of how it went.. had a bit of assistance from the Gearbox guru at work so I wasnt alone

stay tuned for updates..

wasnt too bad hey, i pulled from behind the gear behind it and it slid off nicely ;) yeh its definatly fun putn all new bearings through it, pulling it apart wasnt so bad, remembering where shit went was a battle since it was my first box I have built, lucky I have the nissan FAST program for explosion charts :)

Gave the fuel tank a scrub and clean and cleaned up some surface rust on top of the tank and resprayed it.. The bottom needs a paint now as well but I have waited til the tank is back in the car so it dont get scratched up.

Tailshaft, slave cyl, starter motor and loom for gearbox all hooked up now,

I also fixed my issue with the power steering line at the back of the car for the hicus, there was a dodgy peice of water hose with cable ties to fasten looped to the return line to the front of the car. I have ripped that off, filed down the flange on the line so some 3/8" fluid line can comfortably slide over the line with some new hose clamps, I have stripped out the hicus loom in the back to tidy things up and made things look alot neater. I also found my car allready has a Hicus lock bar in it!! bonus!

heres pics of the intake manifold and head before it was slapped on with a new gasket, I have sealed around the water jackets to ensure nothing leaks into the intake just incase there is a low spot
