Hello once again :nyaanyaa:

I went on a hills run yesterday through Chittering with some mates. After a good 1.5 hours of revving the car hard constantly and speeds above 100km/h, we all stopped for about 30mins for a breather/etc.

My car was running right on song, engine temp was perfect, oil pressure was normal, boost all good, etc etc. I opened up the bonnet to check the engine for any other problems and saw that oil had splattered everywhere over the right hand side of the engine bay (where the turbo is). I had a quick look and could not see any leaks. I let the car cool off a bit, then we kept going.

After seeing that the car had been leaking oil i wasn't pushing as hard, although the engine kept singing, not a single thing was out of place.

I came home last night, degreased the engine bay, cleaned everything up, jumped in the pit and hand a look underneath after removing the stone guard/cover. I could not see any leak/s at all, so i'm not too sure what is happening.

My suggestion is that it is an oil leak only appearing under high pressure, i.e. driving it hard like i was yesterday.

Any of you guys got any suggestions?

where was the majority of the oil gathered around? Maybe have a pic with the area circled in might help.

might just be you simply driving it hard. An oil catch can perhaps might solve the problem if you dont have any noticible leaks normally.

Yes the engine is stock, stock oil pump etc. No I don't have an oil catch can.

I have noticed some perspiration around the rocker covers in the past but there are no noticeable oil leaks at all.

sure its oil leak? When i do driftday and motorkhana, i get a lot of powersteering fluid on the right hand side. They are known to leak when you are cornering hard etc. Chuck on a sock on the power steering reservoir and it should stop the spills

have you checked your oil level since? check your piping from the drain from the turbo as well.

Would be checking your breather hoses, i would be investing in a catch can!

Yeah i've got a mate coming around in about 20min and im going to check everything under the bonnet.

How much can i pick up an oil catch can for?

hey, i have a oil leak coming out from the top of the oil catch can where the filter sits? does it mean i need a new one or anything. if anyone could help

So without any ado whatsoever, here are the details for you to save: Date: Saturday 23rd November 2024 Meet Location: Cowan Truck Stop (Pacific Motorway - Refer to Map) Meet Time: Meet at 7:30pm for a 8:00pm departure Destination: Gosford McDonald's (65 Pacific Highway, Gosford West) Map: https://tinyurl.com/saunsw-oldpac Definitely an easy one for this cruise, meet at Cowan Truck Stop and jump straight onto Old Pacific Highway! Final stop at McDonald's which has plenty of parking all around. Please be mindful of the added police presence lately so best behaviour is expected! There will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost. If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior!       Yours would only have been worse, because I've spent 2 weeks cleaning mine. And yet it barely looks any different... Ha ha ha The work bench is unusable as things are stacked so high on it, as it down each walk way between the cars. And on one of them. And inside the other... And under one of them... These days when working in the garage, I need to roll the Subaru out. Because the "workshop" portion is just so full of stuff... To do anything means to move lots of stuff...   But I recently got rid of a full rack of fish tanks, and a few more. Then have started just throwing shit that's actual rubbish. And trying to sort everything else! Ha ha ha   Needing to move the Lathe into its proper spot, and then move all the other gear like the press, compressors, welding trolleys.   And let's not talk about the camping gear... I want to get rid of it, the GF wants to go camping... I think I'm getting to old to want to camp these days   Oh, I also evicted a few things, like the motorbike outside ages ago too! Ha ha ha This is all in a 6x9
