Hi all,

I thought I'd come on here and ask a question or two about the Haltech boost control solenoid that can be run in conjunction with my E11v2. Over the past couple months I've been performing a turbo upgrade on my R33 GTR where I replaced the twin stock turbos with a single Garrett GT35 which first had a .82 rear end but now sports a .63 instead.

Now, my problem is that on this new .63 housing my internal wastegate creeps open early and prevents the turbo from spooling up properly, instead, it spools up slowly and over the entire rev range.....so, less than ideal! My tuner recommends an Eboost but I know that you can also get the boost control solenoid from Haltech along with that little controller. Eboost ranges from anywhere between $450 to $750 while the Haltech unit is under $200!

All I need is something that keeps the signal from the actuator and keeps that waste gate shut and then opens it at a desired level instead of it creeping open on it's own accord like it does now. I must add, that the turbo and the actuator are in brand new, perfect nick and I have some plots here of how the turbo boost graph looks like when the wastegate actuator has no signal to it at all....a very steep curve that comes on hard!!! (while now it's very linear).

Could someone please advise on which way I should go to fix this? Turbosmarts Eboost....or, the cheaper Haltech solenoid? Obviously the eboost would fix the problem just like that along with opening up many avenues of further boost control....but can I achieve the same outcome with the Haltech unit controlled and programmed via the E11?

Please advise.....any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
