Hey mate, first off you need to tell us a little about the car.

Has it been looked after? Are there any problems you have noticed yet?

Judging by your post you are new to skylines thats fine mate you will learn, personally id recommend you take it to a reputaple mechanic in your area.

Get all your fluids changed, A compression test, leak down test and a complete check over of the car. Has it got any mods yet? Are you looking at doing some mods?

We are only to happy to offer advice here on the forums

hey guys, my car has 3 inch fornt pipe back exhaust an a hks air intake and thats it, it has been imported so all the fluids have been replaced and looks very well looked after only driven 1000k's in the previous year. as far as getting it all checked the car runs perfect, i am a bit paraniod with turbos and any little noise i hear freaks me out ie is it something wrong. my turbo is quite loud and sounds quite different from most turbos i hear, dunno if its cause of the nylon compressor wheel or the air intake system or what. i live in sale victoria, an dont trust no mechanic down here and way to far to travel else where, all in all my car sounds and runs fine. am thinking about boost controllers an intercoolers atm.

well if i were you, before jumping the gun...

id check the basic things like Spark plugs, Fuel Filter, Gearbox oil, Differential oil, coolant, brake fluid.

and probably clean out the throttle body as well as the air flow meter at least.

i guarrantee it would be pretty dirty because these things arent always checked or cleaned in general maintanence over the years.

you would probably feel it a bit more smoother after this....

i reckon you'd do well to make a special trip to Melbourne to get it looked over by a specialist workshop. Book it in, find the time, and make sure everything is ok.

Personally, i wouldn't take it anywhere but Status Tuning.

Are you sure all the fluids have been replaced? not all compliance places would do this and plus you don't know what they've put in.

If i were you, i'd

- change ALL fluids (all synthetic)

- change panel filter

- change fuel filter

- change oil filter

- change spark plugs

- get wheel alignment/balance

- check brake pads/discs

- polish/wax car

- make sure tyre pressures are right (17" should be about 38psi)

- check tyres

get your oils/fluids from www.performancelub.com, mention you're from SAU

the 1000k's in the previous year... has it had a service in a year? you can't just go on km intervals with servicing, you either go time or km's. I go time because i only do around 5000km's a year, so change oil every 6 months.

But, i'd check those things for starters but i'd be keen to find a time to come up to Melbourne to get it all checked out at a specialist workshop... and then you can chat about mods as well

cheers,

daniel
