i winded down my driver side window and it couldnt wind up anymore.. i removed my driver side door trim and test the relay.. when i try to wind down my window there is clicking sound coming from the relay but the window just wont wind up.. so i reckon its the motor which is spoilt? want to make sure before i buy anything wrong... and can anyone recomend me a place to get my window motor fix? hopefully near brisbane area would be good...

I had the same problem with my old S1, except that it would go up but not down. Annoying, but at least I could still drive my car around and leave it parked, unlike your situation!

Anyway there's a black box in the door that deals with the auto up/down. In mine there was a dry solder joint in that box. If you're confident you know what you're doing, pull the box apart and look for a bad connection at the base of one of the relays, and fix it with soldering iron and a bit of extra solder if required. A mate of mine sorted this out for me in 2002 or something, and it has never played up since.

it was earlier that that when you bought that car. :) late 99 from memory and it was somewhere in 2000-2001 where I fixed it.

the box is prone to vibration and that breaks the two relay that drive the motor off the board. its visible with the naked eye and once you see the 8 broken joints it will make sense. the plug is the other point of interest.

if you cannot fix it run it past and I will.
