Good stuff..

What power are you hoping to make?

Interesting Idler pulley postion.. Did the belt tension up okay? I presume you have kept the stock RB30 tensioner pulley postion?

I am about halfway through my own build! ust looking at the external oil drain and oil feed issues. What did you go for regards these?

Look forward to seeing the dyno results!

Also just saw you have the 800cc SARD injectors. Where did you get them and how much? what about the connectors? I presume you need to cut the OEM fittings off and splice on new ones? Do you know if they will fit an OEM fuel rail maybe with spacers under it?? Would appreciate the info if you know.

Cheers

I picked up my injectors from www.RHDjapan.com, i think they were $960 for all 6. From what I can see they should drop straight into the OEM rail, although I went for the SARD rail as well. The SARD rail comes with some blue o ring seals that sit on top of the injector. All of the SARD injectors i have seen new, have a new plug kit with each injector. The standard RB30 tensioner positions look like they tension the belt fine.

Not sure what you are referring to with regard to the oil feed and drain, as the 26 head doesn't have the VVT feeds.

what is your power goal & who is building this engine for you?

Hopefully we should get 420 to 450 rwKw, but this will all depend on how much the clutch will handle. Its only going through two wheels, so will be fun, previously the RB25 was putting out 235rwKw.

Advan in auburn, Sydney have done all my work - would highly reccomend them.

looks like youll beat me to it buddy.

i recently jsut took off the rb25 head and slappn on a 26. still deciding if i should keep the gt3540 or swap it over for a t04z.

please keep us posted.

p.s = do u rkn the 800 cc injectors are big enough for around 450rwkw?

keep the posts comming with the progress, im interested to know how the tune goes, im looking to get advan to tune mine with a g4 as well

Ok so i finally finished 2000Kms for the run in - boy was that an effort. The engine was limited to 4500rpm and as the IAC is a little dodgy, idled at 1500rpm.

Combine that with a bitch cold start (actually any start), and super rich running (250kms to a tank) it was hard going.

She went in on Monday for a three day tune on the G4. Most of the work was trying to get constant AFR's under load, and then boosting up and adding fuel.

Phone call today to say that there was a few problems..........

Given the amount already spent, my date started twitching!!!

Apparently stock clutch is slipping (thank god thats all), currently making 350rwKW on 10PSi. So she is being backed down to 9PSi, until i can flick a twin plate in there.

Happily should get around 20PSi on full boost, so unless anything else goes nicely on my way to 400+KW.

I'll keep you posted

Mike, are you not at all worried ?

id be getting a new tuner...3 days to tune a G4...ffs...we had our circuit car tuned with a new Vi-PEC/G4 on the weekend. Light load stuff then took 3 power runs to get a constant 11.5 AFR...all up did 6-7 power runs until the Vi-PEC logs showed a CAS error (factory Nissan). 390AWKW @ 17psi with 17 deg advance on BP98...will make 450AWKW with its eyes shut after a new CAS is fitted and we throw some more boost at it. All done from scratch in a few hours on Saturday afternoon.

We get the Vi-PEC/G4 guru's do our cars though...they know what they are doing. Id be pissed having someone flogging my car for days on end on the dyno learning with my money.

All that on top of running an engine in for that period and having it rich.

Good ECU choice though...I have a Vi-PEC V88 in my 1000hp drag car...its the sh1t...only took 8 power runs to tune it too.

yes i had my car tuned before with another 2 tuners who took 3 days each - that was a disaster...my current tuner gets it done whilst you wait

each to their own

Thats because you use one of the best tuners in Aust. Marko who knows exactly what he is doing.

If a workshop needed my car for more than 1 day and possibly the next morning to tweak the cold start id be concerned.

How does he tune the cold start and run when the engine isn't cold?

Jim at CRD never had my car overnight...he simply knows where it has to be. This is what you pay for...experienced operators are worth the money.

I could reach into the car and turn the key...and the engine would fire into life everytime when cold.
