Resetting The Ecu

hey i just herd down the line that resetting the ecu is good for your car. if so how do you reset it and how often. also anydown sides to resettign it. ooh by the way what is the oil capacity for an rb25det gt t.

remove the negative terminal.. step on your brakes a few times until its hard.. then wait for about 20mins and your ecu should be reset. Just plug back in your negative terminal. I don't think resetting ecu does much. Oil is 4.7L from what I can remember.

Pretty sure you remove the positive terminal actually. Reset mine after every oil/plug change/afm and pod clean. only pain is resetting the stereo.

Doesn't matter which one is disconnected. Either will disable the supply of tiny little electrons to the ECU.

You can reset without disconnecting the battery. Search the site, there is a tutorial that explains how to reset by shorting 2 pins from the consult connect port. Only takes a minute. While you're there, you can run the inbuilt diagnostics to see if your car has registered any issues...
