Ok, so at some stage I was thinking of doing a plenum on the 34. There are a few problems that need to be accounted for and anyone with experiance to help out a bit.

My car is an auto so currently I run Nistune computer.

Unfortuently the nistune cant compinsate for the loss of the traction controll unit after the Throttlebody so it locks the car into third. Which means I cant replace the plenum. Enless I want to go down the road of a stand alone ECU, shift kit etc etc.

Is there anyway you can keep the traction control + installing aftermarket plenum... possibley a custom setup? Im looking at going a hi mount plenum, smaller body with longer runners as to avoid loosing response.

Hey mate, i've got maunel GTT with a Plazmanan plenum running R33 S2 TB, my engine light stays on because the the factory R34 TB has two sensor, one for TPS and one for the ECU and the R33 one don't.

What power are you aiming? Coz there's no point having traction control when you have a 280rwk+ car lol

Think there are ways around it, i'e Greedy makes a kit for it i'm pretty sure.

Or alternately just take the bulbs out :D

ive been told by a forum trader that greedy dont make the plenum for r34.

ull have to go plazmaman or something else (however the plazmaman ones r quite nice im going to be getting one shortly)

unfortunately no.....greddy dont make it for the ER34. but to be honest the plazmaman plenums seem to be quite amazing. supports over 1000hp, gets rid of all the ugly shit in the engine. and they claim it will increase throttle response by 20hp throughout the revrange. the best thing about plazmaman plenums is they keep the factory long runners so your response is always there.

my mate has had it on his r34 rb25/30 setup for about 6months now but his moving to a rb26 head and selling the plenum.

pretty cheap check it if your interested.

plazmaman plenums on the NEO are a pain in the ass to fit

and after all the drama they still do do anything for TCS

which is why im in the process of making something so the ECU thinks everything is still stock with regards to TCS

its not that simple

if you plug in the second TPS (one for the TCS) the car will not rev unless its seeing a full open signal

then the TCS mechanism is the size of two coke cans joined together where you gonna fit that?

thats right, even after being in contact with the blokes from nistune there response was that they havent written anything into there chips yet to compinsate for the loss of TCS so automatically from there tests on the neo the Nistune locks the car into third without the TCS unit there. My answer has mostly been answered, as I havent seen many if any posts regarding this I was curious to see if any manafacturer had created a plenum or TB with supporting attachments for the TCS unit. Smartest thing I could think of would be to custom make a fitting for the unit on an aftermarket plenum. As you understand to simply remove the TCS unit for an automatic car would also mean Id hafto change to a stand alone ECU which would mean aftermarket shift kit... your already looking at 4g plus for the sake of simply installing a front facing plenum. Let us know Dahtone when you have a product from your research and as im happy to try it out.

who has done theis and what u doabout the error light?

no tps pluged in?

Buit a greddy one fits fine on a NEO, just have to use a non neo throttle body. remove the TCS mechanism from the r34 throttle boby and leave ot plugged into the loom so the ecu thinks it is still there.

i think most poeple who get aftermarket plenums are already in the 300kw+ range. TCS isnt gonna do much for you. my mate just got it removed alltogether

and it cleans up alot of the ugly shit wires in the engine bay aswell.

Im fine with removing the TCS, problem is it just cant BE removed on an auto. You need well over 3g of mods just to remove that TCS.

I assume it would run on some kind of ground signal and would measure the amount of current sent through when its open/closed 50% 80% blah blah so why dont you just make a sender which matches the signal when its fully opened.

Just a guess.

    • Hey guys! Thanks for the feedback!    it’s got some basic mods currently but it’s been tastefully done  has a z32 Maf and a HKS Mushroom filter an old logo nismo strut brace, splitfire coil packs, braided turbo lines, turbo smart boost controller, walbro 450 fuel pump, sports cat and a reinik cat back exhaust, shock works coilovers, Greddy turbo timer, blitz FMIC, blitz BOV, hard race hicas delete, ebc brakes (front), excedy heavy duty clutch, Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres, and the 33 GTR wheels from memory. i have also had my mate 3D print a gas cap holder for inside the petrol flap haha but she’s very clean underneath (being a paint sprayer of 15 years I did not want to mess around with rust!) and she’s had thousands spent on maintenance over the last few years, she drives like a new car!  my future plans is to do an RB30 rebuild with a 25 head uprated turbo etc etc I’m hoping to start this next year, I’ve just opened a premises for my business so that takes priority at the moment! But overall I’m extremely happy with it!
    • I'm just being rude. The VQ was developed by Nissan Japan, but it comes from the time when Renault were....ruining what Nissan had been before. Just look at a Nissan Tiida, and tell me that you're not looking at a Renault. In fact, just look at a V series Skyline or Z33 etc and tell me that you're not looking at something Frenchified. I just see the VQ an emblematic of that. It is also a nasty sounding thing. I'm really glad I chose to stay RB and not put a VQ30 in when I did my car. As to the RB30 being Aussie.....arguably it's a bit Aussie.
    • That depends, if the French got it from the Japanese, its Japanese. Or, is the rb30 aussie? Also, wouldn't it be Vq for a junior variant?
    • As soon as the MAFs are replaced with ones that work properly, if the harness isn't ruined it should run perfectly immediately.
    • If you haven't already decided on a career, look at being a mechanic, engine reconditioning or mechanical engineering. All 3 will give you different views and levels of knowledge (eg, mechanic is general for the whole vehicle, reconditioning will teach you engine specifics, engineer can design stuff). Or.......find something you love doing, hope its a well paying area and pay someone else to build the car for you. After 20 years of mechanicing, I've lost the passion for working on my own car. It may be different if I had access to a hoist, but it is what it is.
