Hello everyone,

I've got a stock '96 skyline gtst and i'm about to rebuilt to engine. Was wondering where i could find the main bearing and connector rod bearing sizes. The store where i'm gonna buy it from says to look in the car manual but my japanese suck, cant find it in there. He was saying that the rb25det has 3 types of bearing grades.

Anyone knows where i can find this info for my engine? I wanna order the parts before i pull the engine out so i can work on it asap to get the car going again.

Thanks in advance for the help

I would wait till you have the engine apart and measure the crank journals - if they have worn too much you wont be able to use it and or the bearings you buy may not be right...

Sometimes it pays to wait.

Same applies to piston sizes - if the borea are worn and require work the pistons may be the wrong size...

Thanks for the reply Sheriff Wan.

Guess i'll start ordering the gasket set, timing belt ect ect atm and than pull the engine apart.

The thing is i keep hearing a ticking noice in the engine thats driving me crazy, when i went to do a compression test cyl 4 was giving a low compression. Thats the reason why i'm rebuilding. But the car seems to be running great though, i can get up to 160+ km/h without hesitating. I got no blue/white/black smoke comming from the exhaust or engine, got no leaks either so i'm kinda clueless on what the problem could be. Have to open it up to figure out what the problem could be.

But this gives me a great opportunity to modify the car :P
