Hi mate,

Now you can import 7 seater Nissan Elgrand in Australia.

You can contact import workshops in QLD or NSW and they will answer your questions or

you can check Nissan Elgrand Owners Club in Australia.

I think you can only imoport up to 2005 models....

Cheers.

The QLD govt have just recently closed the loophole of Elgrands being registered as a campervan so you cannot comply them in that state anymore. No doubt, other states will likely to follow as well. It's just a matter of time. And no, you cannot comply them as a people mover as they clash with the locally delivered Tarago's and other movers.

Yes they are complied as a campervan (3 seater actually) but really they're a people mover. Raws workshops would simply remove the seatbelt restraints and voila, it's a campervan. Hell they dont even need to remove the actual seats itself.

So if anyone is after an Elgrand, you better snap them up now as they will surely be removed from the SEVS list.

Damn, glad we got in and got ours when we did! They are an awesome vehicle and worth more than what they sell for. And they shit all over Tarago's. Want a diesel Tarago? Buy an imported Estima for way less than an Aussie delivered Tarago!

    • There's a post from a member (can't recall who), went down the path of a twin scroll G30-660 and it's doing over 300kW+ AND comes on about the same as a high flow RB25DET turbo. Have your cake and eat it too in this case. TBH, if I had a 2nd chance of building my car again (i.e. someone gave me what I wanted for my shit box, but the deal was I had to re-build another R33 and keep the change) I would just pop in a stock NEO motor (with new seals, rod bearings, ARP studs, head gasket, sump, Nitto pump), get a smaller twin scroll turbo, modify the stock low mount (keep the divider in place), and make a solid 300kW on 98RON and call it a day.
