hi

i was woundring is it legal to foil a car instead of painting it ?

it would cost lots of money to foil but its better than painting the car

cuz i like the original color of the car to stay as it is

so if it legal were can i foil my car ?

other countries its legal to foil the cars and lots of the luxry cars out there are foiled

So you want to wrap your car up in foil to preserve it's paint?

I guess it's got its pros and cons but other than that just get a respray the same colour.

Just get the paint code of your car and you should be fine.

(OO)SKYLINE(OO)

thanks but i think the foil would be better cuz the color would be ther same

i mean some people when they have an accident and repair the door or the bonnet ect.. the color looks diffrent

cuz its new and the cars color is old

the same time when u want to change the color of ur car u would change it in a day

for those who mentioned the movie thing

u cant just take of the foil and drive it

cuz before i took the foil of and the car was sticky and i took it to a place were they can polish it ( takes a day or more )

To answer yes it is legal, only colour requirements in NSW are that the car cannot have a bare metal reflective surface I.E No chrome body or polish colour which could blind other drivers (total crap if you ask me)

In all honesty I doubt you'd get picked up unless you live in the western suburbs!

There's a red 180 that goes around a few shows here in Adelaide, Ministry of Bass normally has it on their stands. Complete outside is done in a red contact/film/foil, maybe get in contact with those guys and see what they can do. Fernando Wehrl's drifter is also foiled in chrome film.

Ok I am guessing this foil stuff is like a vinyle that covers the whole car. So maybe instead of ringing workshops you could try talking to somebody that does vinyle stickers and stuff for buisness cars and installs them.

Foiling is a first time I have ever heard of and finally seeing some pics, thanks to ~Hypnotik~, it actually looks good.

But done correctly tho, other wise it looks kinda "Tarty"...

  • 1 month later...

Check out Universal shield in Brookvale, just had my skyline done with the stone chip protection and a few more extras like electronic rust protection and Glass plexin paint sealant, they also do foiling and heaps of other surface mods.

they do the best work I have seen and can highly recomend them regarding foiling and paint protection films.

they gave me an awesome price on the stone guard and gave me free leather and fabric protection.

Call Chris 0414-752-370 www.universalshield.com.au :)

    • They should do. I have S14 (or something S chassis, anyway) driveshafts in my R32 (because my diff flanges have 3x2). They're the right length. When you go looking for R32/3/4 driveshafts (for turbos), they're all the same thing, so are the same length. So there really shouldn't be any reason why those cheapies from JJ won't also fit an R34. R32/3 NA should also be the same thing. The (3x the price) D-Max ones are uni-fit. They have 5x1 and 3x2 bolt holes and say they cover all the cars. So that would also suggest that they are all the same except for the flanges. And in that case, the flange goes both ways. I'd be buying the D-Max ones if I ever have to replace a shaft. Because that will open up diff options without needing to juggle shafts also. Juggling shafts is gay.
    • Yeah with the adaptors they do look like the photo above - just the fitment within the plenum itself and then further with the rail to the intake is questionable - we shall see tomorrow hopefully once I get some replies from Aeroflow, maybe those bosses are the missing piece....
    • Should be fine, if you have it sitting too far in, you end up just spraying the walls and have shit idle. You "can" run them like that, however I don't think it's a great idea (also depends on your plenum, might be good to just get the injector bosses first, mock it up and see if you need to get the bottom extension) Ideally your injectors, with the extension should look like this  (Not my photos, just Google)
    • Thanks for the replies guys, it's really appreciated.  It seems the kit was supposed to come with those injector bosses but hasn't. Unsure if they'll help as even with the adaptors to make them a 3/4 height injector they still sit too far out so mount the fuel rail?
    • Hello, I am looking to replace my two rear drive shafts in my R34 N/A Skyline but I'm finding conflicting information. Do S13/S14/S15 or R32 NA/ R33 NA fit? https://justjap.com/products/gsp-premium-rear-drive-shaft-l-h-nissan-silvia-s13-s14-s15-3x2-type?currency=AUD&srsltid=AfmBOoqY7EwDaYCUoUU3mxxZ_qrUXkVVHiV4MIN7ozoar6scjnEiekv- would this fit?
