brisby, my car is so far from 22s its not funny. id love to know where 4 seconds is hiding... i can account for 2 secs max with the current set up. i will be back to give it a red hot go. Today was meant to be about shaking the car down and giving Mick some seat time so effectively i had one session with 2 clear flying laps.. i also had a whole session of datsuns and rexs spinning in front of me..

im much more keen to get back to PI to smash out a time there... corners ftw!

Well done Dean with the 1.22. nearly had a RWD on top of the list for a change.

Dean Taylor did a 1:22.0!!!!!!

Thats an awesome effort.

BBGTR was looking very strong out of the last corner, and boy does she let out some flames.....

Thats awesome! Good work Dean, i was starting to think that i was insane for thinking more of the later model rwd boys should be up in the 22 bracket! The Datsun boys are flying too these days :)

Some Footage

Session 2 - 1.21.9 lap -

Session 3 - Red Flagged :w00t:

Session 4 -

Session 5 - Short - Memory card was full - didn't empty it from the last session

Session 6 - Didn't bother with camera - did fastest lap of the day 1.21.5 :P

Hey guys thanks for the kind words

Car was good- suspension upgrade helped.. I cant believe a didnt play with it or change it after owning the car for 5 years!!

definately more time in it currently- i think another second.. getting close to teens!!

Dean

I had a great time yesterday.

Was SOOO thankfull that the rain held off all day .

sorry to see Chris' car had engine dramas, hope its nothing to major.

Highlight was the run where I was chasing mick in ryans car. SO nearly had him at turn one ( he locked up big time lol)

Just struggled on 3 or 4 tight corners to get lateral grip. Was very entertaining though.

Had a major moment and dandy kink. pushing a lil hard only me and Wayne- Rchoo will know how much of a moment it was lol.

BRIS best for the day was 1.28.5. Not sure how to get to 22s , 24s is reachable with tyres and a few other lil adjustments,

Here is a pic my lil bro took just before lunch.

Cheers Guys see you all at Deca

With the same turbo setup and brake setup your car can definitely do a 1:22, i dont know what you have with regards to suspension but my old Bilsteins were not anything great so.... you need to bin the 18s and go lighter 17s with decent rubber :(

I am mega pumped and catn wait to get back behind the wheel later this year. LOL i bet my car will be slower with all the new mods :(

Brian track days require 2 balls... and i hadn't been off yet so thought it was about time. I had a great day, dipped into the 1:26s for the first time, was trying to go quicker than the Sil80 coz that always makes for a bit of fun but little mistakes cost me. And i have less power so i guess it was expected there.

As for the 1:22's there is a big difference at sandown between a car like the brisby mobile that has 260rwkw and the suspect 220rwkws sil80. I'd say thats a good number of seconds right there.

Twas a great day with no rain coming in the end, started to be able to pick off a few of the faster wrx's in my group too which is always fun.

Bad luck to Chris stacey too, hope it turns out ok.

what ever happened to the days when group 1 was full of rediculously quick gtr's and getting into a track day meant you had to enter as soon as the forms came out!?

what are the hsccv days like? i'm addicted now

I think you might want to upgrade your brake pads and fluid before going to the next one,

those brakes were overheating in 2 flying laps

Combination of the GFC, Targa and softness on the account of the rest..... :D

Yeh, Sandown is all about grunt. But my 23.1 was with 230-235rwkws as i was only running 15psi. At PI i used 18-19psi to do the 52 flat. So i did a 25.2 at Sandown with my old ICE tune and the 10cm housing which was a laggier 222rwkws. I ran Dutton / Sandown with 260 and went slower at 1:24.2 or something :D Not posting to fly flags, simply pointing out that i think Ryan needs to throw his car on the dyno and get the tune looked at, i suspect its simply not making the power it should.

As others have said, power rules at Vic tracks, Sandown being the most obvious example, lol probably the reason i like it... :P

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
