Kink Or Resistance In An Oil Return Line From Turbo

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i had another thread about my issue of puffing some smoke but it's garnering alot of interest. I thought my issue might be seals, but i'm starting to consider my turbo being the problem. its hi-flo neo 25 turbo.

Just wondering if anyone by chance has ever had a situation where their oil return line was kinked or just plain was functioning. what are the symptoms of that, is it possibly to get periodical burning oil, perticularly at idle when stopping at lights?

when you have a kink or a un smooth return the oil builds up and causes pressure to be put on the turbo oil seals they then blow out when the oil cannot drain back to the sump quick enough it happened to my mate when he could not find a hose with a bend in it to return to the sump ended up blowing the seals bad and blowing insane amounts of smoke out of the exhaust

i so called "friend" who thinks he knows everything put my turbo drain line back on with half a tube of goo, it pretty much blocked the return line and it stuffed the turbo in 2 days, that was a GT3540 turbo. they don't like oil blockages very much.
