there is nothing wrong with launching a GTR at 7,000rpm. I've done it many times, probably over 50 times on 1 single OS twin plate alone and 50 more on the tripple. that problem lay entirely with the poor clutch and flywheel combo that was in there. nothing to do with how the car was driven or who was driving.

just had a mate tell me the r32 gtr's at bathurt use to lanch in 2nd aswell becaue they would get to much wheel spin in 1st even with there slicks on, might have to give this one a shot and see what it feels like :blink:

Agree with that

I used to launch my GTR at 8,000rpm from standing still in 1st, done it more than a handful of times and never had an issue even though 4th gear synchro was stuffed and the box wasn't in the best condition (R33 GTR 230kw at all 4). Was just a single plate clutch as well, 5 puk rated at about 300kw

Except once when I launched from 8,150rpm then I had some slippage in 2nd but we won't bring up old stuff :)
