Pretty sure that my battery is goneski. Wont charge up fully and then is completly flat after 8 hours or so.

How do I get it out though? There is not enough room to lift it out from the boot. Do I have to unscrew the metal brackets etc to make more room to get it out or am I missing something? Is there an easy way through the back seat or something?

Please excuse my ignorance.

I went through the boot. I still had the tiny original battery in mine so it came out easy. Putting the new optima yellow top in was a pain took 3 hrs cause the terminals were to short and that was at a battery place. Goodluck..

Where are the batteries in these? In the boot?

I found with mine (boot) that the more you unscrew the easier. Also, I replaced mine with a MUCH larger unit and had to remove the battery stand that's there as well and have a custom one fabricated, but that's irrelevant.

Taking out the back seat makes it easier, but it's not necessary... and if anything, taking out the backseats is way harder then taking out the battery if you've never taken the seats out before...

Never done a 34 though, talking about my experiences with 33s and 32s...

My battery died the other day as well..

All lining around that area i took out.

Played around hoping i didn't have to take the brace that goes across the battery part.

Unscrewed that, took it off.. undid the battery, moved it around a bit and just slid it out.

The rear strut brace thing is the main thing that is in the way

If i didn't remove it, there wasn't enough room up because of the speaker. So couldn't get it straight enough to slide out.

btw drdoof, yes its in the boot, under the rear left speaker.

take out the lining, and the brace (only 4 nuts) then start unbolting that big panel. must be 30 or so nuts and bolts. I did mine with an electric rattle gun and it took 10 mins. if I'd used spanners and ratchet probably would have taken me 30mins+ just to get that panel out.

you may be able to squeeze it out another way but I couldn't. so I say bite the bullet and remove the big panel right off the bat. makes putting the new one in easy too. now the real hard part is finding the same size battery as stock (they are like motorbike sized) with the external vent tube on it as well.
