Hi all, i'm still searching or the car but while i'm at it i thought i'd start planning the modification list for a 350gt

Seeing as the good ol' pfc route isnt an option can anyone recommend a good ecu to go with a 350gt. i've done a search and seen some mentions of flash tunes etc etc but i'm stuck in old habits from my gtst, so i'm looking for something a little more capable.

I was looking at the vipec for my gtst, has anyone tried one in combination with a 350gt, i know that it might be wasting some of the nifty features that the vipec offers but from all reports its the bees knees in all other aspects.

Any first hand knowledge/experience with AM 350 ecu's would be greatly appreciated.

they said your car need to be reprogrammed or otherwise the immobiliser will stop you from starting the car with the new ECU.

if your car don't come with the metal tag with the immobiliser code on it from Japan (e.g. the prev. owner lost it) then it's pretty much a dead end for you. cos the dealer here need that immobiliser code to be able to reprogram the car on the new ECU.

I believe the right answer to that is ..... YES

Not having that code is one of the reasons I suspect seeing some seller flocking off their brand new Impul ECU or anything for V35 on ebay prior to actually using them on their car... or they may have got the codes, but they can't find a dealer who is willing to reprogram their 'grey import' and thus flocking it off ebay hoping either some poor sod took the bait or someone else luckier with reprogramming thing catch the bargain...

I have an Autronic SM4 running standalone and the car still starts and runs fine, better then factory actually, the factory ecu is still there just to keep the BCM happy, bit tricky wiring it in and my car was the first to have the autronic, my tuner and autronic wrote the software using my car. Big thanks to Matty Spry at PITS!

I love the Autronic its an awesome ECU with plenty of options and extras, and ive used a few.

    • I believe there was a similar one posted by @duggyphresh. They were re-routing their battery positive cable in the way I am also trying to achieve. Sorry, I’m new to this forum, so was a bit late to the party by a few months and so reignited the old thread, as I wanted to know how they got on with doing it.
    • Wasn't there a thread on this very subject just a few weeks ago?
    • Hi all! Looking to relocate the battery to the trunk of an R34 GTT. I want to do it using as many stock GTR components as I can (including the harness protectors from the 34 GTR that run underneath along the chassis to the engine bay). So far I’ve purchased the battery tray from a 33 GTR, as the captive weld nuts are already there just asking to be used. There is also the slight issue of now having to relocate the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU, which in GTT’s sits right above where the battery will then sit on the tray. Has anyone already achieved this, and if you have any pics that you wouldn’t mind sharing? It would be great to see how others have done it and where you put them, as there are countless holes in the parcel shelf panel to potentially use. Just trying to get some ideas bounced around, and to help uncover any potential problems I may encounter by  my choice of location. TIA for any help!
    • Brand was ard.   I also threw a brand new battery at it and beefed up the wire from the alternator to battery and added an extra earthing point from the battery
