Window Tinting?

fane - the "grading" is measured the other way around - and relates to the amount of light (supposedly a %) that can pass through.

so Limo is about 10%, legal is 35%, etc.

Just go 20%. It looks the best. If you get pulled over make sure your windows are down.

Am i right in sayiny the rear quater panel windows can be hell dark as they are not a vision window? Ie only windscreens and front windows have legal tint limits? I am speaking Legally here. No yellows and wanna keep it that way.

that said, 20% isn't THAT dark, and coppers won't pick up on it, unless they go looking for a reason

Don;t know about rear-quart windows, but if experience is anything to go by, don't tint them limo-grade, it's a bitch to see through, and YES, you use them more than you think!

Milo- section 38 of the Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Rules 2002 says:

"Glazing in a window other than the windscreen may be coated to achieve a luminous transmittance of not less than 35%."

So it seems the legislation doesn't only differentiates between windscreen glass vs non windscreen glass, and not front and quarter windows.

So in short, no, all glass on your car has to be rated 35% or above.
