Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has put Alpine SPR-17S 6.5 Inch's in the rear parcel shelf of a r34 sedan. Also where did you mount the tweeters?

Also what else would fit straight in without any mods?

Cheers guys.

I know they not alpine but i have fusion 6 1/2 speakers in the parcel shelf of my car. I almost cut the parcel shelf but in the end i had a bit of 12mm mdf board sitting in the shed and made a custom parcel shelf for it and it looks alot beter that the standered parchel shelf. Ill take sum photos of my setup and post them up for u

Thanks champ, wouldn't mind having a look may change my mind but i want to keep the original look of the car. Need some stealth speakers that fit underneath. Cummon guys im sure someones got something

even better leave the speakers out, and put twice as good speakers in the front were YOU sit.

i hate having the sound coming from behind me. but thats just me, depends how much u really like your passengers.

chris

agree

the rear speakers are for fill if you want it to sound good ???, unless you run 5.1 dolby you dont need separates out back.R34 are too small inside to need rear speakers in most cases.

I have some 6.5 alpine coax in the rear and separates up front , but if you insist you can fit tweeters under the grills on the rear deck, just be creative and you might need to remove the housings to fit flat under grills.

money better spent on good fronts with proper sealing around and behind them, Dyno mat in doors or similar.

hey,

ive just started doing my 34 with audio (and i bought it 2 weeks ago HAH!)

i've so far got alpine 6" type-r's in the back (had to get new covers for the parcel shelf as the harness mounts FKED mine up...), and the 6.5" type-r's are going in the front when i get a spare weekend to do it  just gotta wait for next pay cheque to buy amps+sub hehehe

x2 n no rear speakers, or at least dont spend big, ive got some pioneer splits in the back (with soundstream fulsh mount tweeters next to the covers, looks cool :D) butttt in saying that ive got it faded about 80-90% to the front for optimum sound. (Got splits in the front too) so unless ur a brand whore dont go spending big amounts on rear speakers that will never be used to their potential, a set of $100 3-ways will do the job just fine.

Hey guys just bought these from alpine.

Just wondering if i should put them in the front or back?

I got some kenwood speakers aswell 150 watt but not as good as these bad boys!! :) lol

Just wanna hear peoples thoughts...

i've got those alpine ones in the rear of my car.. for fill, but if your going to keep the kenwood ones put the better speakers in the front, cause that's where you will want the better speakers all the time.. and if it comes to getting better speakers like 6.5 splits chuck them in the front and move the alpines to the back!!! :O

i would just keep the better speakers at the front hehe

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
