9psi Boost

ok, im just trying to find a high flow cat, then when my mate puts on my dump and high flow cat he said he want's to put the boost up to 9psi. is this safe? it wont cause any damage?

its a S2 GTS-T with POD filter, CAI partiton, BOV, and will have a turbo back exhaust.

Thanks for the advice, i just don't want to damage anything.

i reckon 9psi is easy as long as it's in tune and u use 98RON fuel, using stock intercooler, and especially with CAI.

don't take my word for it. i'm running 10psi with pod (no cold air! doh), standard intercooler and 3" exhaust. i'd risk running higher (hell, i need a new turbo anyway) but i'm in piss-poor tune at the moment so it'd ping like a bitch.

9psi is fine it should be around that sometimes anyhow.

10psi is even good depends if u are doing track work too...

You will find that after you get all the 3" exhaust fitted it will mostly like already be doing 9psi so if you up it to 9psi and then do the exhaust it'll be closer to 12psi.

It fark it but it may shorten the life of it if it is not cooled properly or if the rest of your car is not running properly.

I'd suggest just setting it to 10psi and enjoying that for awhile.

I ran my stock turbo on 15psi all day every day and it didnt hurt it. But im not saying yours will be the same. Stock turbos are cheap anyway so so who cares if it blows up.

Mine sits on about 8-9 PSI with a full 3" exhaust and air filter.
