HI Guys,

I'm sick of seeing my skyline sitting in my yard and want to see if anyone is interested in buying it.

I bought this car back in 2004 for about $16gz. I drove it around for a couple of years stock with just a trust 3inch exhaust.

It has some aftermarket 16in rims on it, not special but better then the stockies.

Details:

Auto

89 model M SPEC

GTR Headlights

aftermarket side skirts and pods.

bilstein suspension (awesome suspension)

Interior is immaculate, no stereo though.

Straight body.

This car was like new when I bought it, everything was immaculate. Drove better then a new car with the suspension.

Now the bad-

-It has bent valves in the head. I have spare valves and a head. Everything needed to fix it bar a head gasket, it also has a good timing belt on it (new a few years ago, never used).

REASON for bent valves, timing belt snapped while driving.

-The car was egged sitting out the front of my old mans house and the egg wasn't cleaned off straight away. So the paint is not the best. You might get away with a cut and polish. Roof is not the best either.

-The window seal rubber thing on the back window needs replacing.

There's probably heaps more info, but I cant think or remember atm. Its best to come inspect the car and see for yourself.

Total to fix the car I estimate at -

Valves + Head = free come with car

Head Gasket = $100 (i think)

Cut and polish = Free if you know someone with an electric buffer

Then blue slip $50

Green Slip for 6months $173

then rego $150 (i think)

Please feel free to ask me any questions

price is $4000ono this is really an EOI as I might end up fixing the head, giving it a cut n polish then putting rego on it.

I have included pics of what it looked like when I first bought the car, and I will post up pics soon of what it looks like now.

Email me if interested then we can go from there [email protected]

Located in Sydneys West

Cheers

Daniel

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
