seeing as all the jap stuff has gone up in price over the past year or so, has it affected the price of private sale r34 gtr wheels?

for example lets say 1 year ago work rims were 1500 for a set, now today there 2500

now lets say today r34 gtr wheels are 2000, what where they say a year ago

i hope i made sense as i need some sleep now, ill update in the morning if no1 knows wtf im talking about :(

Work rims are $2500??

I think you will find a set 18's will set you back close to $2,700.

If you are buying 34 GTR rims from japan then yes they will cost more because you are paying for them in Yen. Just find the price in JPY and google will tell you what that is in AUD approximately.

Yahoo auctions etc is one place that might sell them. But you could probably find someone selling them here in Aus.

R34 GT-R wheels on an R33 GTS-T?

i dont think it will suit....

ive seen GT-R wheels on R32 and it looked kinda cheesy

i think the GT-R R33 wheels would look much better on the GTS-T

Really? I think they look tough, with a little lowering, they sit sooo neat in the guards. Offsets are perfect, wouldn't want more than a 245 tho'

The stock R32 GT-R Rims look neat... so does the R33 GT-R.

i think that if he really liked the all round...R34 GT-R look he may as well save up and buy the actual car in the end... instead of sticking parts on the R33 GTS-t

but getting better rims than the existing ones is a different story. with that sort of money, he'd probably be able to get something nicer and more suitable to the car

Interesting logic, if you like one bit, you should save up until you can buy the rest...

I guess "nicer" is a subjective thing, just cos you think it's nice, doesn't mean someone else will. Besides, an r34 GTR rim is forged, so, light /strong and not bad value, if you buy at the right price.

It's all personal choice.

it depends....

stock OEM parts from japan are very expensive...

sometimes at the same price you could buy some aftermarket branded products...

do you know how much the OEM stock Nissan R33 GT-R stereo costs from nissan?! 800$ brand new AUD

with that price you could buy the latest MP3 player from the leading brands for less than half its price.

im sure alot of the Genuine Nissan R34 GT-R parts are very dear at Brand new as well...

Darron at Just Jap recently sold R34 GT-R rims with 50% tyres for $2400 early this year. He said the wheels were a bit scuffed.

HEKT1K has R34 GT-R wheels on his R33 GTsT with slightly stretched tyres and they look tough!

im not so worried how it will look. at first i was worried how they'd look on a silver 33 series 2 then i came across this pic which answered my question. although it does have a gtr front bar and wing, ill probably take the center caps off and put some blue nuts on. and maybe get a drift/duck wing to replace my series 2 spoiler and get some coilies to lower her. im not only after looks, as mentioned before they are very light, strong, and resell value should still be high as everyone wants them.

my question was more regarding whether i should wait a while as the economy might recover slightly to bring the price down? coz if the aussie dollar gets stronger, jap wheels will go down. but did r34 gtr rims go up in price since the dollar went to shit or have they always been fairly pricey as ppl dont buy them brand new they mainly get passed around.

anyways heres the pic

I don't think he was intending to buy new, I thought it was more a question about whether the poor exchange rate was effecting prices of imported parts...

You are right tho', there is other equipment that is much more competitive on price. My point was that a set of gtr wheels bought secondhand would be cheaper than buying new wheels of similar construction.

Plus, as the pics show, they look the goods.
