Hey guys new turbo is on and running 20+ psi. On full throttle now one or another of the cooler pipes will blow off as they are not lipped at the ends.

Just wondering if theres is anywhere that definitely does this in melb area and around how much it would cost for the full kit to be lipped (4 peices i think so 8 lips)

Cheers

go to oh performance they have the tooling there to do this should costs much , they il do it on the spot in most cases , 186 mc intre rd sunshine nth 9364 4862

You mean you'll do it.

Andrew - you're better off just going to somewhere or someone that welds.

You just need 4-5 spot 'bumps' welded on so the clamp has something to grip.

Thats how i did mine, had a mate do it and held 25psi no problems. You dont see it either so it can be any old backyard style welding and then just file down any slight dregs so it doesnt tear/wear the piping.

My pipes were done in about 6mins

lol trying to get some customers back from that 33 gtr incident?

its not gona happen

hey mate, been awhile. hope all is well. what turbo u running at 20psi??

as an alternative, and is really easy...I was having issues of popped pipes as well, I just flared the ends of the pipes out a little with an adjustable spanner, took 4 mins and holding 17psi fine.

gl with it.

Cheers for the help guys.

Adam - its a VG30DET highflow by GCG so hoping for round 270kw. Pipes were poping off with 12 psi with old turbo so its no surprise they are now.

A mate of mine did sugest the flaring, is it still easy to get silicon joiners back on?

I think ill just do that if its gonna cost too much to lip/bead.

nice dude! when u gunna forge? im looking at keeping mine as is for now, and slowly accumulate the parts for forging until im ready...

it is fairly easy.... start flaring, put the kettle on for a cuppa (and incase u need to make the joiners a little softer) do it a little all the way round and if you can still get the joiner on easy then do it a little more, if too much then just deflare :) ... ull be fine dude, othernwise if u come back donvale way ill help ya.
