Why and when is there a need to upgrade this bart on an RB26?

Alot of sellers say "compulsary for sub 11 second gtr's" Why? Is this true or sales pushing?

its also called a Harmonic balancer

its designed to reduce reduce tortional vibration,

Replacing:

When?... depending on the Condition...

When the Drivebelt gets replaced, mechanic should check the condition of the pulley before wacking a new one back on.

(just like other belts, the Tensioners are recommended to be replaced with it also)

why?... When the Pulley is worn, the most common symptoms is rattling and squeeling... which means the bearings are f**ked,

and sometimes, being worn..it can cause the belt to jump a tooth... and in extreme cases...can cause crankshaft failure or loss of power of the electrical systems...light dimming & radio switching off. as well as vibrations which causes Failure/cracks in the crankshafts...
