Can I remind the budding graphic designers your creating copyright infringement by using these images ???? and this is a non profit registered biz which can be held liable before it gets off the ground ?

you might want to step back ????? also note the design must be registered for trademarks for SAU-SA with exact details parameters for the design ?

very good point

you must use images in the public domain, preferably ones with the creative commons licence or an unenforced gpl/mit licence

last thing we need is grief from a bored lawyer

yeh boys if u have a pic of your car that you think would suit a 600x100 sig (im finding 600 x 150 looks too bulky, x 100 is more slimline), send them to me [email protected] and ill whip something up when i get a chance.

To give you an idea, my sig is 600 x 100.

I stole your sig Damo :(

Right ... funds are in the bank. I have everyone's email addy as far as I know ... so the 10 official (paid) members of SAU SA will be receiving a PDF record of the funds banked today. We are off to a flying start! :D

Voting for the Committee will be at Ministry of Bass on Sunday 24th May @ 1pm.

I will start a new thread on this shortly, but for now ....

There will be another bbq on the day. You can come and collect a hard copy of the form, join up as a member, and ask any questions regarding SAU SA and committee nominees! Email [email protected] to request a copy of the committee nomination form from me, and/or membership form, if you do not have one yet.

Basically, we are nominating people for 6 Committee positions:

President

Vice President

Secretary

Treasurer

Committee Member (Web designer/newletter etc)

Committee Member (Events/shows etc)

The form allows for a primary vote and secondary vote, so you can nominate 2 persons you feel fit for the position. Committee persons will be required to be paid members also, so make sure they are aware you are voting for them, and make sure they are aware they need to then become a paid member of SAU SA.

You cannot nominate yourself.

:P

PS. does anyone know why when I tried to upload here it said this: "Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to check the settings and permissions". Hence the imageshack writing....

Get in touch with them. See if they're interested in joining and being on the Committee. Then vote for them.

I have updated committee nomination/voting forms (for 6 positions now, not 4) which I will email to those whom's addy I have already.

Ewww @hotmail.com lol should ask prank to let yous use a @skylinesaustralia.com or if you want I can make an [email protected] for you to use........

Well, I haven't heard back from Prank in weeks ... so I'm working with Funkymonkey for now. In the interim, [email protected] was convenient for the interim committee. Once the executive committee is voted in, we hope ot have a proper, proper email address set up.

On that note, I haven't even used the hotmail address at all. Checked it mid last week and getting spam already! WTF

can i be nominted hehe..

Get involved with getting it up and running, attend meets, help out and sign up. Show some enthusiasm and people will take notice and possibly nominate you.

    • Among other things yes. Making sure to either use an oil pressure regulator or the right restrictor size for your oil pump/range of oil viscosities you intend to run, making sure you plumb the lines correctly, turbo should be placed such that it siphons properly even when the water pump isn't turning so you don't boil coolant in the turbo after shutdown, oil return should be low resistance and also preferably picking the one that is most likely to return to the pickup as opposed to some other irrelevant part of the pan. It's far from impossible to figure this out but I have seen people really, really struggle and if that's the case it's easier to just take the path of least resistance. To me, bolt-on twin turbos are a fixed cost whereas single turbo is almost unbounded.
    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
