Hey guys,

Im considering installing the tie rod spaces that a few people brag about for more steering lock. Obviously the main purpose of these is for drifting and parking.

Now i also plan to do some occasional circuit racing with my car and have been told by a mechanic that he would take them out if i was to do circuit racing aswell?

What do u guys think of this? Besides having to adapt to the revised/more responsive steering I cant see there being a problem???

If i do a wheel alighment after they r done i just cant see the problem with em?

Let me know what you guys think who have experience/knowledge with this.. Thanks!

Dean

Maybe ask him why he thinks you should take them out. I wouldn't be surprised if he has never circuit raced before let alone used tie rod spacers as well so I wonder what he is basing his opinion on.

From personal experience gripping around the track they are fine to run. An advantage is that if you find yourself in a huge oversteer you have more chance of bringing the car back because of the extra lock.

Hopefully someone with more circuit racing experience can point out the cons.

RACK spacers are fine, the issue is when u have modified knuckles for extra lock (and less binding at high speeds), they make the steering much more sensitive and can make the car unstable at speeds.

but just rack spacers are fine, all they do is allow the rack to travel futher.
