Hoses From Powersteer Fluid Resevoir

Nissan want $280 for these two and one will have to come from Japan. I always assumed it was low pressure since its just pipe clamped, but the hoses are pretty chunky looking and moulded into a specific shape... would i have any problems with replacing them with something flexible from pirtek? (for the one with the metal end i would just cut it off at the join to the rubber bit, and pipe clamp a section of hose from there to the resevoir).

pretty sure they are high pressure.

i wouldnt bother with nissan, there should be another place who will supply at much cheaper.

try a wreckers or find someone on here who is wrecking the model you need its how i have found most of my bits

I already have some 20 year old ones that i could put back in... i wanted something in better condition.

you know that inside of the rubber is a flexible metal line so the rubber being slightly perished will not affect the hoses that is what the fluid travels through so replacing them would be for a purely aesthetic reason
