gotRICE?
LOL i remember reading this when it appeared too.. Dam those people that ask for advice then never come back to let everyone know their level of awesomeness from e-mechanics. rtune
His third last post on the site explained the failure in detail. "Type of Failure: 98,000kms on the clock, believed the previous owner when he said timing belt was done, but was not aware the tensioner pulleys where still the factory item. Failure on the inlet side tensioner, result was loosening of the timing belt, and jumping of teeth. Guys, these engines re intrusion engines, the valves DO interferre with the pistons. Result was strange. Every single EXHAUST valve was mashed and bent." http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...31#entry4699631 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/267835-instant-death/page/3/#findComment-5051362 Share on other sites

MBS206
Hence why I love my dirty 30... 60 Degrees advanced on the inlet, 60 degrees retarded on the exhaust, never touched a single valve into a piston... Adriano
But in theory a 30 should be worse for bending valves, as the higher rod/stroke ratio increases piston dwell around tdc, and the increased capacity means you can fit more gnomes.
