Yup, I got a T3/T4 hybrid and I'm stoked with it.

I've been running 28 psi on it with no hassles at all for a couple of years now in an RB20DET.

She comes on at 2700 and screams to the redline.

For what they are they're cheap and reliable.

Thumbs up from me.

Paul, I dunno about eBay but mine was created by Grant Bojanjac at Per4manz.

His work scored 1 world record & 5 national records last season with his turbo’s.

Definitely not cheap China knock-off crap.

Per4manz

Like I said, very happy camper.

I think the OP is probably talking about ebay T3/TO4e turbos. That being said, what I said before still stands. Saying T3/T4 turbo means nothing. The OP should provide a link or a company or SOMETHING about the specific turbo he is talking about, unless he is just trying to have a general descusion about the advantages/disadvantages of running a turbo with a much smaller exhaust wheel/housing compared to it's compressor side.

Hybrid in turbochargers means fast turbo response and high turbo efficiency. All modern performance turbochargers are considered hybrid turbochargers. Its not a Business/Company who build turbochargers.

hybrid actually means a combination of parts, components and peieces to make a working solution

ie its custom parts, custom wheels, bearings, covers, fittings, flanges etc

for something as critical and performance demanding on skyline it is critical you select a suitable turbocharger

picking a mish mash custom hybrid unit is not going to give you what you want, if you are considering this, keep the std turbocharger

it is by far a better unit than some of the ebay / hyrid / t3/t4 / kkr / chinese turbochargers

if you want more power, you need $ to back it, not a $500 turbocharger, a $1500-$2000 turbocharger

Sorry man, this one isn't what I've got.

Mine's a mutt which is why it's referred to as a hybrid (not to be confused with the brand HYBRID), and has been made from the ground up with a variety of components.

It consists of a T3 stage 3 turbine trim, and a T04E compressor trim, and ball bearing shaft.

When you look at the $3500+/- price tag of a brand new 480hp HKS 3037S Pro which is what I wanted originally, mine was a cheap 500hp alternative at only $2300.

I can't say that I agree with a word of that. They might be considered quick spooling in general due to the smaller than normal exhaust side in proportion to the compressor, but this can have very negative effects like very high back pressure/low knock threshold. No way all modern performance turbochargers are considered hybrid turbochargers. Is a GT30r? GT40r? Borg-Warner 368?

I agree with all that right up to the price thing. You already know my affinity for Holsets, and they are less than $500 used on ebay, but they are $2000 new :P
