i just changed the inlet manifold gasket on my gtr, got it all back together, started it up and it started hunting really bad. i had a look on data scan and it said there is a detonation sensor fault. so i want to know where the sensors are or if anyone would know what i've done to it

cheers

You didn't go and clean the throttle bodies, did you?

The sensors (they are not the cause of your idle problem) are under the manifold, at #2 and #5 cylinders. You have probably just left them unplugged. (the error is not that you have detonation, but that the circuitry is faulty)

i didn't but i took them to a mechanics to clean the gasket surfaces and he cleaned the throttle boddies with wynns throttle dody cleaner he said it wouldn't remove the coating. but i guess it has so my question now is how do i get a stable idle again?

ideas anyone????

Some ideas:

Is your TPS adjusted correctly?

You have checked for boost leaks, right?

Do you have all the vacuum lines in right places? I've put hoses in the wrong places before. Get a diagram and check everything.

My Cef idles high too, around 1600. I can't figure out why so I just drive it anyway..
