Hi all,

I have just driven my M35 across the country from Sydney to Perth, man i love this thing!!!! Super comfortable and great at a constant 140 across the Nullabor.

The questions i have are 1. Has anyone had a ceramic turbo fail, and if so did you rebuild it with steel wheels or just do a complete turbo upgrade, size, flow, etc etc

2. Has anyone on the west coast had a dump pipe made or imported one to suite the M35?

I am fortunate to have some really good contacts in WA as i worked for Per4manz Turbo's for some time and i am pretty handy with the TIG.........BUT if i can buy a dump already made that would be great, same thing with the turbo, a high-flowed T28BB would be my first choice but i am yet to get underneath and have a good :D look to see if it will fit. Failing that i would look at high flowing the the factory M35 turbo and build it with all steel internals...

Any advise or prior experience would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Greetings,

If you do a search of the forum you will find that the turbo's do fail after a while, there are a few forum's on here that discuss high flowing the stock turbo.

It is only a small turbo and it is wedged in a hot and difficult position on the bottom of the motor, don't know how you would go getting another turbo into the position of the stock one.

Not sure about dump pipes, you can try and search the forum but I'm not sure if you will bring anything up on that one.

Bits and pieces about the turbo below. You might find that is to hard to put another turbo in....as is the upgrade below is like putting a ship together in a bottle.

dump pipe: Liverpool exhaust or Charlstone Exhaust.

My cat fell through :D so I doubt I will do a dump pipe....you will see what I mean when you eventually get under there and have a look.

i think you find that they MAY fail after time :D

my car is over 100k, and its still going fine - as confirmed by Nick and Stephen

+1.

Whilst mine failed nearly a year ago, my mate's stock turbo is going strong and is nearing 100,000kms.
