exhaust wrap seems to do the trick, you can hold your exhaust dump right after some heavy revving.

Yes i was thinking of the wrap as well,my dump is wrapped an it does a good job so i may have answered my own question, i hav done a little bit of research but comes with mixed results.Ihav read that beanies can catch fire is this true?

I started a thread on whether the beanie was worthwhile a little while ago as my engine bay temps were still quite warm after I ceramic coated everything. I now have a beanie which i picked up online from HPinabox - highly recommended and highly effective and one of the better quality ones I've see and perfect fit to boot.

Here's the link to my thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Tu...ts-t260243.html

.....and here's one I've already prepared........

I rarely comment on pics, but mate........ thats a really amazing engine bay. Not only just neat, but everything looks 'engineered' really well so to speak. Congrats !!

And that is a nice beanie, look better than most out there.

Did you happen to actually measure before /after temps ?

Gary

Heat management is still work in progress. You can touch the beanie with the engine going - its about 25mm thick and a little thinner on the sides. Didn't measure temps but my hand tells me its a lot better.
