10mins ago i hear my alarm go off aswell as the front flood lights. grab my keys and quickly go to my car thats parked in the driveway right infront of the door. everything looks normal so i thought it was maybe a cat, then on closer inspection my drivers door is ajar and i think the interior light was off cause im sure i would have noticed it on. no signs of tampering of the key hole or jibbing of the window seals and i'm pretty sure I locked it last night (haven't touched the car since then)

Is this a sign of some dumb junkie just being opportunistic, trying to steal whatever is in the car or something more sinister? I mean there is a bright alarm led thats always flashing. Had a quick look up and down the street only seeing some, i'd say normal looking guy walking in my direction. Should have asked him if he saw someone. What are the chances that it was him and he did a james bond on me by walking back towards me cause i sure as heck would have chased him down if he was walking away.

I'm still puzzled as to how they managed to open the door as I'm dead certain I locked it. This has happened in the past with the parents car with someone getting in and taking loose change and shit but its the first time with skyline. These people just shit me! I was all ready to unwind for the day with a movie and all...f*#kers!!

i hate that shit it boils my blood when you hear things like that... the other day i noticed i had two chrome tyre valve caps missing after being parked at my girlfriends overnight... the only people that would knock off two are some little 12 year old bogan shitheads trying to make their pushies look cool... I had the shits the rest of the night after that i found out... i would love to find somebody poking around my car or in the process of flogging something i would beat the shit out of them so hard they'd be brushing their teeth through their asshole after they woke up in intensive care... throw a cheap alcohol on them so when they go to the cops they reek of booze and your laughing

end rant

definitely some deep built up anger there......

I'd do the same :D

and MR_fanny, I have a similar story.... came back to gf's place late one night after going out, (bout 1 am). locked the car in her parents driveway... went inside, going to bed... 3 mins later my alarm goes off... there I am in my boxers... 1:03am at my gf's parents place, everyone asleep... and my bloody alarm goes off... I turn it off straight away... run out there to check, all looked fine...thought maybe I pushed the panic button, but then I saw the driver's door was a little bit open, and I know I closed it, because if you lock the car and the doors arent closed properly the alarm goes off when it arms after 15 seconds.....looked up and down the street, couldnt see anything... mayb it was the possums???

I sleept with pants and runners on that night... ready if I needed to be, as that had never happend before, and I sure as hell wasent going to let some punk try to damage/steal my car!

so yeh, those weird things happen!

why not try sticking some blue tack around the key hole/ window seals? see if any1 tried anything during the night?

be safe.

Note to self don't break into Space Goats car! :P

I would booby trap your car - maybe rig up some capsicum spray or something so that if they open the door the get a mouthful of the stuff - then you can have your way with them. Just make sure you know how to "undo" the trap!

Or you could sleep in your car. That should stop people trying to break in...

Just my suggestions feel free to use either...

Woah! Angry man.

Don't park where I park then, they're gone within a day of putting them on. Yes even the $1.00 plastic ones.

had my car egged twice and just eary feelings about my car at my gf house in hampton park.

so now if i stay there at night, i leave the Stagea in the garrage at home. and take the Daily car :D if anyone wants to make a fast get away they wont do it in a Ignis ....

hey B1 if they didnt take anything.. it could be your mates playing a joke on ya...

we did it to a friend of ours... only we replaced his supra with a $100 gemini LOL

pushed it down the road and called him saying we think we saw his car..

thank god he wasn't space goat :D

yeah i had considered putting some sticky tape just to see if someone is using a key cause i still cant figure out how they managed to open the door. i just pulled some fuses out and put the car in full lock fixed with a clublock just to make life harder for them if they decide to roll my car out of the driveway. my paranoia says it could have been an apprentice at one of the workshops i've been too that was making copies of keys and noting owners addresses. am i being super paranoid?

would hate to think what a dog would do or leave in your car overnight..ha maybe a black mamba instead or a cane toad

it may be a sign i need to up the ante on some more anti theft devices.

yea i bags not cleaning up after keeping the dog in your car :P and as this recession gets worse and more people lose their jobs its inevitable that the crime rate will go up as more and more people get desperate maybe i should carry round a club lock from now on

I hate stealers, they piss me off. They deserve to have their hands cut off!

About 4 nights ago, we had someone break into our garage and steal heaps of shit like turbos, after market parts and even some shit out of our customers cars. My car was sitting ontop of the hoist that night coz my dad was going to change the rims the next morning for a roadworthy, and the dumb f*ks were so curious to see inside the car that when we woke up the next morning there was a ladder leaning on it into the drivers side window!

They also took keys out of the ignition to our r34...the car was parked in the garage behind other cars that couldnt be moved, and even tho we have changed the locks and ect, thats still not the point. I dnt get why people do it, they deserve to be robbed 100x worse..

omfg that suks! did u guys like call the cops? wad happened? i think i better get some kindda alarm for my car asap :D

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
