Need Help With Diagnosis

was driving through the hills today and my car started making an extremely loud noise on boost... exhaust leak is my guess...

basically sounded like a standard induction noise, but 100 times louder...

car still makes 18psi easily, so its gotta be on the exhaust side...

what's the best way to isolate an exhaust leak? when the car's not in a loaded gear you cant hear it...

Just look for the black exhaust marks, 9/10 times its the gasket from manifold to turbo. when the exhaust builds pressure

under load between head and turbo it will find a weak link = either manifold to head or manifold to turbo.

put the rear on jack support stands so you can put it in gear?

if there's a leak I wouldnt be suprised if the original nissan exhaust manifold gasket has blown out (it's paper), Sliding Performance on here does the Tomei (rb26, i dunno if the rb25 is the same or if tomei make a rb25 version) metal exhaust gasket for under $100 if it is indeed the problem.

Handful of rags, get someone to block the tailpipe for 3 second intervals. Listen up front for the hissing.

It will get worse but not as quickly if you stay off boost as much as possible
