I know that this topic has been covered before, but i want to no wat should it cost to change Caster rod bushes in a skyline 33.

i have gotten a few different prices and now i am confused.

Any recomendation for the eastern side of Melbourne? And where can i just buy the bushes?

Also i would like to ask if people have changed them before doing a DIY??

Pedders also told me that it might be worth while changing strut tower bushes, could that be just milking it abit or could that be true?

how much SHOULD you pay, or how much WILL you pay?

labour wise, a shop should press out old ones and press new ones in for anywhere in the region of $50. put them in ur car urself, and as far as the bushes themselves go, depends, whether u want rubber, urethane, adjustable etc etc, i suggest u call around and find out. if u want a direct replacement from nissan, call them and ask, although personally i wouldnt reccomend this.

Ok i have done a few phone calls, and now i am juggling between getting adjustable arms or just pressing in the new bushes.

What is everyones opinion, price wise its simular because i would need them pressed in while the arms i would fit myself.

Once the bushes are pressed in, it's not a hard job to put in the arms, no. It is a little fiddly pulling the steering knuckle back as you try and fit the bolt though.

You could also consider fitting an aftermarket front sway bar while you have the car all jacked up and ready, as you've got to take the castor rods out to get to one of the bolts.

The other thing is the fully adjustable ones you see around I don't believe are road legal, and many of them also won't last too long before the sphericals flog out.. Whereas is if you get the pressed in offset bushes they will give you less (increased) castor, but will be road legal and should last a bit longer.

SPF1202AK is the one you want if you want the offset adjust (for R32 or R33)
